Just wanted to share something you do not often see. These are unique and quite frankly denoms rarely seen - pretty cool indeed

Anyone want to guess who these belonged to ?

Enjoy! Happy New Year !

@Windwalker was it you? This is my favorite casino and the 1st one I ever played poker at. It will always have a special place in my heart. I’m also really hoping that they will sell the chips to a vendor here if they change the rack. A while back they went to the secondary 1k’s when someone smash and grabbed them and a dealer told me that they did have a secondary rack. Despite my efforts I was shot down in my attempt to buy all the old 1ks.

Was just thinking the same thing… like really? Hollywood, FL needs that much?:unsure::unsure:
HR Holly gets a lot of really really wealthy businessmen and people come from Asia to play there because of the location. At least that's what I've heard from some stuff I watched. They have a really nice high limit room there and a dedicated floor in there hotel where they have a private gaming area and the big docked suites for the big players.

Palm Beach, Miami Beach vacation home crowd. The most expensive real estate in the country is in Miami. And some of the most expensive homes in Palm Beach. Lots of incredibly wealthy Latin Americans, Russians, Asian, and Americans frequent SoFL under the radar.

Not yet, but one of these days

Hard Rock Hollywood may attract some bigger players, but the Tampa Hard Rock is the flagship property for the Seminoles, raking in upwards of $1 Billion in profits yearly. Overall I believe the Seminoles make $6 Billion yearly in profits, but that accounts for multiple casino properties AND a gazillion Hard Rock branded restaurants, etc

The closest casino to Hard Rock Tampa is about 250 miles away, so they are able to operate with essentially no competition, they don't have to share their slot payout percentages, etc

Quite the monopoly they've built

Las Vegas Sands Corp is trying to get enough signatures to expand gaming opportunities in FL, so the Seminoles went and started hiring a bunch of people to drain the available pool of signature gatherers to make it difficult for Las Vegas Sands to succeed in reaching the number they need

A foreign company bought and demolished the former Miami Herald building as well as several other adjacent waterfront properties in downtown Miami with the long term goal of getting non Native American gaming legalized. The land has sat vacant for several years now but there are major plans for gambling in Miami and a lot of money on it. For those unfamiliar Hard Rock is way out in the boobies west of Ft Lauderdale near the stadium where the Dolphins play.

Disagree here. The HR Holly is 100% the flagship imo. I've been to both and the Seminoles invested over 1 billion in the Guitar Hotel alone. They added lots of shops and even kept the other hotel. The Tampa property is large yes, but they built the Hollywood property to be an icon. When you drive to Miami everyone who goes through that area will see the Guitar Hotel. I do, however, hope that they invest the same amount of money into the Tampa property.

The Seminole tribe also has a massive operations office building near the casino in Hollywood.

Pretty sure they did a $750 million expansion in Tampa

It isn't their Flagship Property based on appearances, it's based on the $1 billion annual profit Tampa brings in.

All their other properties pale in comparison

Here's an article from a few years ago, with Tampa close to double the profits of Hollywood

https://southfloridareporter.com/numbers-579-million-hollywoods-seminole-hard-rock/

It looks like they did pump $1.5 billion into Hollywood, so less on the Tampa expansion at $700 million . But again, based on profit per property, Tampa destroys any other property

I do agree on appearances that Hollywood takes the win, but as a businessperson I'd rather invest half as much on an expansion and reap almost 2x the annual profit

So it’s the Malaysian Genting Group that has been working since 2011 to build their downtown Miami oceanfront casino called Resorts World Miami. They own the land, have the plans, have development approvals. It’s just the gaming approval they are trying to work out.

Wow if Resorts World comes to town that would be epic. Would force a lot of competitions since the Seminoles basically run the show in FL when it comes to gambling.

The Genting Group has a lot of money riding on this. I am kind of surprised it hasn’t come to fruition yet. I think it will eventually even though I have t heard it talked about much recently.

I'm not disagreeing that they spent more on the Hollywood expansion. But that doesn't change the fact that Tampa brings in almost double the profit of Hollywood

Based on financials, Tampa is considered their flagship

True Anthony. I’m not arguing that one way or another. I really don’t know anything on that issue. Just commenting on what I know about the situation in SoFL.
