Had some friends over for "game night". While the kids went off to their respective corners to hang out, the adults all hung out, played some boring UNO, and Yatzee (yawn)... Then one of the ladies suggested 3's (a dice game that is played on occasion at several annual parties in our neighborhood).

In 3's, everyone antes a $1, then people take turns rolling dice. I'm not a huge fan of the game, but if you're interested, here are the rules

As for dice games, I've always been a fan of Ship Captain Crew (or 6-5-4). It was a game we played around the firehouse after big calls, etc... It's common in bars as well... It can be played as a drinking game, or for money (with everyone anteing up, winner takes all).

The neighbor ladies suggested we use the Yatzee dice to play 3's... and play for money... I snagged a mini table topper and some rad casino dice, and we played Ship Captain Crew (in style) using some buttery 1970's Paulson hotstamps.

Anyway, my wife, who hates gamboling and anything remotely similar, actually enjoyed the game. Here's a pic!

Cool table. I actually played around a hex table last week and I forgot how nice and social it is to see everyone's faces. I think I would really love a rounds table someday.

This is just one of my 30" side table toppers. I had a nice 50" round (almost same colors/vinyls), but I attached a solid base to it, and sold it off... :(

A local MTTD attendees noticed a pic I posted on FB, and commented that we should do some dice at the MTTD in May... Sounds cool.

I haven't played that since Wisconsin days. That & ACES......oh and the good ol shake at the bars. How's about a good game of high stakes yuiker(don't know how to spell it) ......I'm miss Wisconsin

Euchre, it's a Michigan thing too. I really enjoy playing it. Is ship captain crew the same as left center right (which for some reason we always called Mexico). That is a fun game for groups!
