Just curious about people that have started with a mint stack and shuffled so much that you actually rounded the edges and put some "wear" into the chips. Has anyone done it? Any idea how long it took?

Happy Chipping!

You can get mint chips that are hard to shuffle down just enough to make them pretty easy to shuffle in just a little while (within an evening). Wear doesn't really seem noticeable by the naked eye at this point, but can sort of feel the differences in edges between shuffled and mint. I think it would take quite a while to get easily noticeable wear on the chip, but not really sure.

(btw I grew up in Mason)

I now shuffle for years with the same Protégé Sample Set while online poker...
Meanwhile ten of them are as high as 8.5 mint chips and the mold nearly disappeared...

I did this with a stack of Jack casino 25s. Shuffled them while playing online and watching TV and such over a few months. Hard to say how many total hours.

Here's a pic.

Doesn't take too long too make them have slightly rounded edges and slightly thinner compared to mint chips.

@Puggy shuffled an entire heads-up set of mint PCA secondaries so that they would fit into his wood carrying case. He ran a contest on how long people thought it would take -- I think @abby99 won it. It took him over a year, and he lost about 1 full chip worth of thickness (per 50 chip row) just from shuffling.

Created his own person hooker juice by doing so, too -- the chips got incredibly filthy, and required at least one major cleaning during the shuffling process.

Probably some pics on here somewhere.

There is a photo on here somewhere of some bicycle tire boat chips, IIRC. Too lazy to find it - but that's some serious play time.

Yes I’ve seen those. Someone from across the pond with ES that look like they were in a casino. Can’t remember who though.

Lol, I will say I’m a bit surprised myself at the rate of dirtiness after even 3 weeks of shuffling I have done while at work.

This is the shuffle stack of my customs I keep at work. Sees probably about a half hour or so of shuffling a week while I'm on conference calls. 2.5 years of that in.

This. And I'd venture to say they're really not any "thinner" per say after this initial period - you're just taking the very minor surface imperfections off the face of the chip, especially at the edges. It takes much longer to actually see a physical difference in the chip thickness, like posted above.

Man those got dirty quick!! Definitely why I prefer blue $1 chips... thanks for sharing the Info!!

Yes it really makes me question even shaking peoples hands lol. I work in a office setting, surprised how quick they got dirty.

I was going to ask if you ran a front end loader on a construction site! Lol only meant as a joke but that is pretty crazy... believe it or not and this is gross but most of that more than dirt is the natural oils from your hands and dead skin cells... by no means does that mean anyone is dirty... just shows how important it is to wash and oil (seal) your chips!!

I need to take a closer look, I’ve certainly rounded the edges on a few stacks already.

I believe there are pics of these in the home game pron thread, don’t ask me what page though...
