I really don't know. I haven't handled a chip with this mold.
 
Those don't have a recess do they?

There is a very slight recess. IMO, not enough for a label, barely enough for a well scraped hotstamp.

I have a large set on the Nevada mold. I had them stamped by BCC many years ago. Mine are very similar to ASM chips. Not sure about these, but might have been made by ASM. I also have a solid red $5.

@David Spragg still makes chips on the cards/dice mold. @TheChipVault at one point had use of the Nevada mold. Not sure if he owns it, or if it was on loan.

I used to have a 100 of these stamped with $1 way back when, and could never find any more, so I finally let them go after having them for about 4 years. Good find indeed.
