A while back I bought some Jack Cincy snappers with the intent of either making them fracs or possibly a 1K or 5K tournament chip. Somewhere along the line I started to feel sorry for the lowly snapper. With its desirable color and spots, it is usually destined to be mutilated or at least relabeled to some other denomination at some other casino. That’s when I had an idea…
What if I designed a set around the snapper, where it was the centerpiece and all other chips had to be in a supporting role? One thing led to another and here I am, with the set close to complete. The set comprises:
100 x Jack Cincy $1 as $0.10
200 x Paris $1 as $0.50
200 x Jack Cincy $2.50 as itself!
170 x Horseshoe $2/CDM 10 as $10
40 x CDM 1 as $50
All chips in the set were acquired through PCF - thanks to @Gavin, @JWC, @CHIPnD, @Carnth, @PokerChipSavant.
The denominations follow the familiar sequence of 1/5/25/100/500, just a factor of 10 smaller. I’m hoping players won’t be too tilted and will get used to them the quickly. The colors and spot patterns (mostly 418) were intended for all the other chips to take second place to the snappers. I’m not 100% sure about the CDM 1 chip with its 312 – I may try to find a 418 chip that fits at some point. Overlabeling (no mutilation here) is being done with Sticker Mule labels and I’m about 2/3 of the way through the set. The $50 labels haven’t been ordered yet so I photoshopped the pictures to show how they will look.
With a bank of over $4K I should be able to handle games from .10/.20 to .50/1 and maybe even 1/2.50!
I’m also building a small selection of snappers that, in keeping with the theme, I will use for tokens such as bomb pot, nit button, etc.
Enough with the chit chat – on with the Pr0n!
