I'm back! It's been a long, long time. Life threw me a hell of a curve ball. Actually, several. In 2019, I checked nyself into my local trauma center and was immediately taken to the intensive care ward, total kidney failure!! And was bleeding into my stomach. After 10 days, I was released. I was minus 90 lbs of excess fluid and plus 4 units of whole blood. I was very close to "cashing in my chips"!! (catchy huh?)

Now it's dialysis 3 days a week for the rest of my life. No transplant for me. And now, I'm having issues with my red blood cell counts falling. Anemie really sucks, but we seem to have that whipped, meds are working.

And this year, the hardest boom was lowered. I lost my brother in January and my sister in April. This leaves my as the last member of my family. That was a tough one to take.

I was rummaging in a storage room and came across my chips!! I just sat there looking through the chip cases and remembering. So I drug them all out, I forgot I had 1800 faux clays!!!!

So, I think I'm gonna round out my Pharaoh's and maybe top off my Nevada Jack's.

Anyway. I'm glad to be back. I've had a small stack of sample chips in my hands for the last week and it just feels right.

Thanks,

Yep, what he said. Of course, I have no idea about your case or the contributing factors to your statement about a transplant, but in case it's of any value, I have a sister-in-law who received a kidney from her older sister over 40 years ago, and is still going strong, with absolutely no medical crises along the way.

Best wishes whichever way you go! Live long and raise often!

Thanks. It's actually a case of location. It's exactly 200 miles to the 3 locations that do transplants. The logistics are the hurdle. Travel and they want to see me everyday for 2 weeks before and every day after. There's a guy, 3 chairs from me at dialysis that been doing this for 23 years!!

Hello from MN! Apparently you can’t keep a good chipper down. My sympathies for all you’ve had to endure. I’ve been here two years and made a few more friends than enemies. Maybe one more friend.

Hi new friend.

Glad you’re back. Running across those chips will turn out being a great trip back toward something you love.

Be well.

Ken
