Because with a tournament, structure is what matters. And with a base T5 single table tournament, 1K's could only be used for re-buys or maybe color-ups. but there's plenty of T500's for color-ups in this set. So if you'd rather use shit chips with higher denoms, go right ahead. I's be happy using the best chips in lower denoms.

Maybe true when you look at the numbers only.. but when you look at the design of this set, the colors only balance when you include the 1k & 5k at the high end. With the T500 as the highest denom, the color progression is kind of meh. It's the 1k & 5k that pop.
