Hi!
I am buying a new set of 500 chips. I am deciding between buying a 600 bird cage with racks or buying an apache box with racks. Obviously the apache box is cheaper with the racks but it looks cooler with the cage. Does anybody have any aexperience with either of the two and would like to share them?

Personal preference zone. Champions exist for either. Though got me curious, thought apache boxes were more expensive.

Champions? Wdym? Here in sweden i can get one for about 40 dollars but the birdcage cost like 80 without the racks

This one is about 80 dollars then you need to buy racks seperately.

Obviously these are 2 completely different storage options. If you're not displaying your chips I'd go with the solid case. The acrylic case absolutely looks better but is not practical for transportation or storage. For $40 I'd buy the solid case.

I often move the chips to a different location but i never fly with them. Maybe its more practicla with the solid case

You could get Justin racks. Those stack nicely for showcase. Then they pack up nicely to go inside the carrying case.

If that is pluck foam you might want to pay the extra $10 for that case as you don't need to cut the foam with a knife

I don’t have a bird cage, but getting some apaches set up.

Apache case set up for racks (lots of different ways to do it):

I’m a big fan of the justin racks, they interlock and completely protect the chips so racks aren’t weighing down on chips:

I think the only real downsides to the apache is that your chips aren’t visible obviously, and the cheap foam will likely be perma-compressed if you have chips in there for storage. Folk switch out to denser foam as well, so not that big a deal.

GL!

One last thought, I also have a versa, that is probably more similar to a birdcage style but not clear:

Similar to the birdcage, I wouldn’t take this for travel beyond putting it in the car etc. It’s a much smaller form than the apache which is bulky, but you give up the protection. The apaches are easier to store flat or on their sides and stack ‘em up vs the birdcage/versa style.

If I get more, likely will stick to the apache style.

Those who value display will say birdcage, those who don't will say case. I'd go with what you like. After a check it seems costs of either differ where I am. $40 is a bargain (too me) if you don't prioritize display.

Can I ask why 500? is it for tournaments?
