I always wondered where Texas rooms go their chips from. They seem to have a shine on the edges that Tina/Anita don't have.

Chips look meh.. but tables and chairs seem pretty nice though

Ah, I can see it when I view it in a browser that I'm not logged into FB with, but I can't see who the seller is. But must be someone who blocked me.

So FYI "The Royal Card Club" was a room here in Austin. One of my dealer buddies in the area was given the GM job and I went over and helped them as a dealer and livestream commentator for a LIPS Tour event (ladies series that hosts events all over)

The guy who was going to buy the place (Larry) wasn't happy with the lack of results the previous GM or my buddy were producing, but they were fighting an uphill battle.

The room itself was nice, but it was on the 2nd floor of a shopping center in a place with zero parking. And they weren't willing to spend marketing dollars to make anything happen.

My buddy left the GM role when the "owner" wanted him to bring in a private high-stakes PLO game and take a rake out of it.

My understanding of the arrangement was that Larry was paying an amount up to a certain month and then would have the option to buy, but I can't imagine he followed through with it given the lack of success they had.

So not sure if it's Larry trying to sell or whomever the real owner of everything was that operated it before (heard it was someone named "Bruce" I think)

Those chairs are no good, they look nice but they aren't in great condition or all that comfy.

The tables and chips are decent, especially for the price. Weird they only have 5 tables though, that room I think had more than 10 and less than 20 from my recollection.

She has a fair number of other listings from a quick perusal, could be they bought it in bulk themselves and are reselling it. Listing look like random stuff not poker related for the most part.

Hmmm, not someone I'm familiar with. Must be someone involved with the room as it was previously. It had been called "lucky's" at one point, then Royal Came in and they were trying to charge a $1,000 special membership where you could win a 10K seat into the WSOP Main, but obviously trying to target the higher stakes crowd like that was destined to fail.

My understanding was a guy named Bruce was the one who set that room up as Royal, I don't know much else except heard he wasn't all that ethical and was kinda shady, but I had no dealings or involvement with them.

At some point some investors from NJ came into town and struck a deal, but didn't want to spend money rebranding so just re-opened it under the same name. I guess they just thought they could come into town, open the doors and suddenly poof, a wild poker player appears, but it doesn't work like that and they struggled.

The only Natalie local that I know in the biz is Natalie Anne, but she's a dealer and massage therapist, and we're still friends on Facebook and not blocked. And I don't believe she had any involvement with that room.

The funny thing is, this dynamic on legality of games is a hell of a restriction, and its only a by-product of the law.

You have to have mass quantities of players to make money on a time rake or 'club dues', it really restricts small rooms from being able to operate.

Personally I think the community would better off with smaller private rooms where you can focus on customer service, but the time rake approach even if you could convince people to pay a higher 'table time / time rake' would run off losing players as they are paying the tax on top of what they put into the game.
