A few of the RHC chips I have obtained have a very distinct smell to them. I can't quite explain it...kind of chemically smelling. I've experienced this across a few different samples I have. The Bahamia's $25's I have seem to smell the strongest, but I can detect the scent in the HS $5's and $25's, and also in the Crystal Park sample set I have.

It's not unpleasant to me, just wondering if I'm alone or if this is a common thing?

I’ve often said that RHC chips stink, but I guess I meant it in more of a figurative sense.
We all assume Paulson is using the same clay in all their chips, right?
I’m watching this one curiously

Most of my Horseshoe Cleveland/Cincinnati samples have a distinct smell on them. When I cleaned them using this abrasive micro-foam stuff (magic whatchacallit) the smell became a bit stronger. My Crystal Park samples have the same, but a lot less intense.

Looks like it's common. My uneducated guess is: a combination of the clay's intrinsic smell and all the smokey air it was exposed to throughout its life. Smell might get "sealed" by the gunk on the chips and then released again when the top layer gets scraped away with the abrasive foam.

I've noted the smell in numerous posts. It's very addicting. Some BCC have it as well but not nearly as strong. Makes sense as they probably share a very similar formulary.

Interesting. I only have one RHC set, but I thought Bahamias just smelled like that from being locked in a musty vault for a long period after hurricane George.

Nope, brand new minty never set foot in a casino RHC chips have the smell. It's 100% from the manufacturing / formulary process and nothing to do with casinos or other storage.
Anynody with the new RHC Paulson chips can confirm.

Are you suggesting that brand new minty THC chips don’t have this smell, or have you only sniffed brand new RHC chips?

Every new Paulson chip I've had the pleasure of sniffing has the same wonderful smell regardless of mold.

Put your tinfoil hats on, they are deliberately adding that smell to keep the casino patrons addicted to the chips and gamble longer!

On a serious note, there might actually be a germ of truth to that...
