For a number of years (8?), I've been away from the chipping community. I smugly thought my addiction was cured. Apparently though, I was just in remission. I have come a back and in just one week I've put a tournament set up for sale, purchased a replacement tournament set, purchased a secondary cash set, and entered a chip raffle. I am now going through my primary cash set to pull out the pieces I no longer need due to the new cash set purchase, and put them up for sale. I am also contemplating the addition of a collectible heads up set consisting of something like Ritz Carltons or Authentic Dunes.

The madness never stops......

They always come back. I myself have just returned from a long sabbatical. One of us, one of us!

Yup you can suppress the addiction but it never goes away.

Welcome back.

I need to sign up for a sabbatical. How does one do that?

The sickness is strong with this one.

Go for the Ritz

Well, there is a rack of Ritz 25s available right now for $230 shipped that keep calling my name. Maybe I shouldn't tell so I can get them for myself, or maybe I should tell and let someone else get them before I wind up pulling out my wallet.

been there and back with the Ritz, you'll have some of the hottest chips in the land. Got a soft spot for the Dunes as well,

Run out of money to spend on chips. Then get a girlfriend. With the girlfriend you won't be able to accumulate chip money.
Then you marry that girlfriend and she thinks the more chips the better so she and her girlfriends can have fabulous casino parties...

Yes, a good problem to have. But...

Actually, I did marry the girlfriend, and she does like poker so she has claimed my original set of custom labeled Nexgens for her own personal use.

My wife loved poker when she was my GF, when we first got together we used to play together all the time. Now I apparently ruined poker for her, because I played 6 days a week for 4 years.

When I broke the 2k cost of my custom set to her, she was less the impressed, so a non poker playing wife is a great way to go to dampen a chip addiction.

I think my first attempt will be (if I can find them) a set with Stardust $1s, Dunes $5s, and Tropicanna $25s. All Vegas, all formerly live.
Great to see you return to the madness and great to see another Texan! Let me know if you are interested in helping out with a 2017 meetup in San Antonio>

All Vegas? Good Choice. Here are some pics of my LV mixed set

This set is sexy as hell.

Very nice

Yeah, that set makes me break my "mixed set / same mold" rule. Very Nice.
I had a similar rule but there was no way I couldn't put the fracs and spotted Flamingo chips in this set. The dunes was a no brainer and then found the Sundance chips. Mixed but all Las Vegas Casinos!
