Anyone have any idea on the going rate of "the Authentic" Paulson home series chips? Maybe not the best inlay design, but on the other hand, they look awesome in stacks.

I know someone who might be selling his set of
200 25$
200 100$
50 500$
50 1000$

What do you guys think this is worth?

Feel free to send me a pm if you are interested in buying as well.

To me, $500 tops.... 'cuz it will take another $1000 to have @Gear replace those inlays. That equals semi-custom shaped inlay Paulsos for $3/chip, not bad....although the mold still sucks.

Lol. Are they that bad? Does anyone have a set of these that they actually use?

Lol. Are they that bad?

Sorry, but I have to agree with Dave. IMO they are that bad. Mold: worst Paulson mold; spots; inlay: horrible; spots: 100, 500, 1000 are good and the rest mediocre at best.

Honestly I wouldn't pay anything for them for my personal use.

So these chips use a combo of a few Paulson fantasy sets. $1, $5, and $10 are Classics colors/edge spots, whereas $25, $100, $500 are Noirs. Though I agree that the house Paulson mold is the worst, I do have an NPS set. I could look past the mold, but that inlay is horrific.

If I were in your position, I'd probably decline, unless my buddy just needed to unload. In that case, I'd probably offer $300, then reassure myself by repeating in my head that they are still Paulsons. If he accepted, I'd build them up into nice pretty stacks, then never take them out of those stacks :p

Good luck man!

Actually, the Authentic 25, 100, 500, and 1000 spot pattern/color combinations first appeared on ApachePokerChip's National Poker Series Paulson fantasy set. Sidepot's Le Paulson Noir Paulson fantasy set (and the accompanying Paradise mold) came later.

Thanks Dave. I should know this considering I have a large NPS tourney set. For some reason I thought the Noirs came first. Much appreciated!

I've played with both the smaller-recess (Classic and Pharaoh's) and the larger-recess (JB and these) on the Paulson Chips mold. I prefer the sound and feel of the larger recess.

Despite the strong opinions of certain vocal members expressed in this thread, a dollar per chip is undervalued.

I've never seen those before. As I'm the odd duck on the forum, I actually like the Paulson mold - or at least don't hate it. I'm not a fan of the inlays however. I agree with @rowlin in that $1/chip is undervalued. I think someone in the open market would give a little more. Unfortunately, those type of chips will not sell well here on this forum. I'd try feebay with those and start them at $499 and let em rip. I'd estimate they'd bring about $650-$750.

I agree the inlay is pretty shit, but i would say the spots and colors (on the 25, 100, 500 and 1000) is pretty nice.

Ill post a picture of stacks when i get home. The spots and colors are good imo.

Theres absolutely no doubt most people would prefer noirs, wthc or nps, but considering the limited supply and much higher price on those. (2-3$ pr chip) I'm wondering if these couls sell at somewhere around 1-2$ pr chip.

Except for the inlays, I believe these are identical to the "classics". That being said, I've seen "classics" bring $2-$3 on eBay. Unfortunately, I think those inlays are going to drive that price down considerably. Assuming those are "faux" inlays, placing a label over them wouldn't be terribly difficult. It would however, increase the cost by $0.30/chip.

The other thing is that there aren't enough chips there to run a tournament. On the flip side, these wouldn't make a cash set either. So, perhaps @BGinGA is correct at $1/chip. Either way, I think it will be a tough sale on here.

Thanks for the feedback. Im pretty sure these are actually real shaped inlays. The spots on the 1,5 and 10 is identical to the classics, but the rest is like @BGinGA said identical to the National poker series line (I think), and better looking than the classics.

I'm pretty sure I agree with you on the valuation though, otherwise I would already have these as a classified link here, lol.

Nope. Only the 1, 5, and 10 denomination chips share edge spot patterns/colors with the Paulson Classic fantasy set. The 25, 100, 500, and 1000 denominations share edge spot patterns/colors with the NPS set (and others).

Assuming those are "faux" inlays
Nope, those are real shaped inlays. That is the only positive, but there are three negatives: they are swimming in the large-recess version of the PAULSON CHIPS mold, the glaring inlays are color-matched to edgespot colors, and the four-card straight flush artwork is pretty bad.

there aren't enough chips there to run a tournament.
Strike three. The 500 chips can easily support a 10-player tournament with T10K stacks (20/20/5/5) with no color-ups, or 10 x T7000 stacks if using T1000 chips to color-up T25/T100. Or pick up 10 x T5000 chips to do the job.

Possibly, but an auction will put that debate to rest. On the other hand, I didn't estimate their market value at $1 per chip. I merely stated what they are worth to me, at most (and realistically, much less than that). Only worth 60c/chip to @MegaTon44 , and they aren't worth anything to @jbutler. :)

Is there enough recess for the full inlay to take a label? The 25-5000 colors are pretty sweet. Though not a fan of the mold, I like it more than the suits mold from a feel perspective. I'd pay $500 to relabel as a single table tourney set.

Not sure about recess. Maybe @Gear is familiar with these chips?

I'm not sure either, I don't have any samples of those. It looks like there's at least a little bit of recess though, probably enough for an unlaminated label without removing the inlay.

Hmmm, maybe they are worth picking up after all.. Anyone have some of these they could send to gear to check out if they take labels?

There are also plaques for this series (5k,10k,25k & 100k).... they was made by Bourgogne & Grasset

A long time ago I had some :(

The particularity of this set is the 'Joker' chips never made by GPI before !?!
