Those of you who's browsed the image archives here or were members of chiptalk.net back in the day may recognise these chips...

After a few years away from poker I've been lured out of retirement by my boys, who have recently discovered the game and want to play at every opportunity they get.

This has given me the enthusiasm to finally make the poker table that my chips deserve. I got it finished tonight and we played a few hands before bed. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy for a first attempt!

I have some Zero cards in the mail. Can't wait for them to come in. Welcome!

I got them in a group buy that I think was organised on chiptalk years ago - really like them and prefer them to Copags.

Santa is bringing me some Kem Arrows and will be really interested to see how they compare.

Copag's I've really come around on as long as they don't chip like some of their older cards have been reported to have. They feel nice and have hands down the most variety of any other company besides Modiano. Looks like Cartamundi is making their product better since their absorption rather than worse, which is good news.

Ironically enough, I have had decent luck with Kems with warping, though the problem is really widespread overall. In a lower humidity climate in the UK, they may stand a better chance of keeping their form compared to the really muggy and humid summers in the Eastern and Southern USA.

Check out the card database @Dix put together. It's really comprehensive and can lead you onto something new if you're looking. Happy hunting!

While I don't have Zero officially in there yet, all preliminary indicators on the slightly used deck I got as a preview show them to be a custom print on Dal Negro Texas Poker stock. Just waiting on the new decks to confirm that.

If you like Zero, then Dal Negro Texas Poker (AKA: Monkey Back) are the same card stock.

Only difference is with the Zero there are no monkeys on the backs & no Italian fat spades.

Welcome to PCF! Congrats on your table, and having your boys join the world of poker! I love seeing families play together! Enjoy these precious moments!

I'm ashamed to say that I have not seen the entire movie. Every time I look for it on Netflix, it's not in the rotation. I suppose I should just pay to see it.
