So I have had this chip design idea for years. The fictional "Harrow Club" is from the 1984 movie Beverly Hills Cop.

The club is featured in a brief scene where Axel walks in to confront the movie's antagonist Victor Maitland. Axel ends up throwing Victor's henchman Zack (actor Jonathan Banks aka Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) across the Harrow Club's buffet table.

Here is how Axel gets into the members only club:

And here is Axel confronting Victor:

Later in the movie:

Chief Hubbard: "Is this the gentleman that ruined the buffet at the Harrow Club this morning?".

Axel Foley (mocking Chief Hubbard after he walks off): "Is this the man who wrecked the buffet at the Harrow Club this morning?".

I figured the Harrow Club would have some form of a card room even if it was only a few tables. Anyway, here is the first phase of my design for a tournament chip for the Harrow Club. Oh, and I'm not set on any colors as of yet, but I do want solids. I'm pretty much sold on the diamond square mold. I think the obvious suggestion is for the mold to be the H-mold. I do like it. But I had a large cash set made on it several years ago and I'm not looking to revisit it.

Please feel free to make any suggestions, recommendations, etc.

Thanks!

Here is the initial design:

Three things jump out at me...
  • Denoms are very easy to read - this is great!
  • "No Cash Value" is impossible to read for some folks w/poor eyesight - this is less than great!
  • The finer details on the swan may be lost at that size. Consider boosting the size of them a bit somehow, or possibly moving the swan to a watermark/shaded outline in the background?

Him and @ChaosRock are the two I consulted with on my sets.

The funny thing is when we played a couple of weeks ago I referenced Beverly Hills Cop with the "banana up the tailpipe" quote and Jbutler and I talked about how Eddie Murphy used to be the funniest guy on the planet.

Thanks for the Jonathan Banks trivia - I love his character, Mike.

And I think the "no cash value" in fine print is great.

I love these, looking forward to seeing the end result.

Solid MD50 with a nice, clean design. Love these! In for samples if available

I like it and agree as to cutting cut NCV text
