So... Ive been looking into WTHC but unfortunatly that seems a very hard set to put together these days! Thinking of a different set to put together. I do really like the look of the Paris and most cpc sets. Anybody know of any of these for a good price would be very interested in hearing! Also any other good ideas please share and don't be shy to show off awsome looking sets! Im not looking for anything huge probs need around 400 pieces!

Fyi I really apprecaite all the help from the community! Some poeple really go out of their way to explain things to me. Not sure if I should make honorary mentions since im uncertain if poeple like being called out.

Great, welcome. Why do you say 400 pieces? What do you hope to play, what stakes? Cash? Tournament? All good questions to ask before buying and inquiring, very different needs.

Thanks for pointing out the lacking info on my part! Hoping to get a cash game set with smaller denoms: a frac, 1s (2s), 5s, 10s, and some 25s

Lol I own those!! I want to get something a bit pricier. my price is what I want to spend now but I’m happy to buy half a set now or a bunch of racks and the rest when I have the rest of the funds!

Buy ins are typically 50-100. I’m generally more of the nit player and will have max 2-3 buy ins of 50. But we don’t limit buy ins some aggressive players will have 6/7 buy ins.

Here is a recommended breakout from someone who is more experienced than me.
25c/50c Mapping - $100 Max Buy In for 200 Big Blinds

Chip Denominations

25c/$1/$5/$25

Max Buy In Starting Stacks

8x 25c ($2)
18x $1 ($18)
16x $5 ($80)

Chips Needed - 600 Total Chips

100x 25c ($25)
250x $1 ($250)
175x $5 ($875)
75x $25 ($1,875)

Total Bank: $3,025

I dont think this is the best breakdown for single table if some of your pots are $1K

heres what you need:

25c or 50c x 100
$1s x 200
$5s x 200
$25s x 80
$100 x 20

600 chips with bank of $5,225 or $5,250 (depending on frac denom) I might even do $1s (150) and $5s(250) since sounds like $5s might be your workhorse

Best advice I ignored when I started on here was be patient. It’s easy to go out and snag some racks or barrels as they pop up, but there are some INCREDIBLE chips/sets out there and the money spent here and there really add up haha So I would say figure out what your dream set is and save and go for that because although it may be few and far between, they pop up from time to time! Best of luck with your search!!

Ye mostly .5/1 by the end of the night the pot can balloon to 1000$.

Full amount of dollars in play get usually closer to 2k
If you are playing this size, and your budget is tight, and unless you just love having fracs, why not just play $1/$1 and skip using a smaller blind? Fracs are hard to come by, and can be expensive in Paulson casino sets. You really don't need them in your style of game. Save that money for the chips you really need to run a good game.

I also disagree with that first breakdown that was suggested. If you like the "no fracs" idea, then take joey's suggestion one further and get 100 more $5s in place of the 100 fracs. So you would have:

$1s x 200
$5s x 300
$25s x 80
$100 x 20

All my cash sets have 300 or more $5s and players seem to love accumulating big stacks of $5s. That is probably because that's the way the local cardrooms and casinos seem to do it. If I go to my local cardroom to play $1/2 or $1/3, and buy in for $500, they just hand me a rack of $5s. No $1s or no $25s unless I ask for them. So there ends up being like 800-1000 $5s on the table.
