In early September I bought a set of chips from Xdan in Australia - shipped on 9/7/2015. Estimated time for delivery - mid October. October comes and goes. No chips. November comes and goes. No chips. Xdan can't get any information on the shipment from the postal service. Three months pass and we start to give up hope - - - -

And then I get a delivery notice. Its marked with the name of the local charity I work for. I figure I must have won a plaque or some other trinket for my years of hard work. The note didn't say anything to make me wonder about the package. I go to the post office, send off some more Bahamia chips, mail Christmas cards and . . . . get my package. Marked Sea Mail. From Australia. Woo Hoo, the lost orphans made their way to a new home.

Its dark now, no time for pictures. But I'll post some unpacking pictures soon.

According to the auspost site seamail takes 2-3 months. And usually they underestimate from my experience.

We may have the worst POS mail service in the world.

Between the price charged, the time it takes to arrive and the general lack of care, I'd almost have more confidence shipping from deepest darkest Africa.

I shipped three packages last month and sweated bullets on every single one arriving safely.

How does sea mail even exist anymore? The pics better be worth it. They aren't coming sea mail, are they?

Some early pictures:

The box is battered and crumpled. It has taken a beating, thank goodness for tape! You can hear chips rattling around.

Things look better than they sounded. Only a few loose chips. The careful packing and strips of sheets worked well.

The plastic wrapping kept the chips largely immobile. Zero breakage. Given how the box looked, that was a nice surprize.

Here they are! 54 $25s, 199 $5s, 259 $1s and 80 Garden City ones relabled as quarters.

Full set pictures are a ways off. I still have hundreds of Aztar chips (hopefully) on the way. And a big cleaning job. . .
