Does anyone know how this happened?

I'll bite, how?

Funny you should ask!

Argosy only had .50s in there dice game for years. I had amassed a rack after several visits. I was usually only able to get 6-10 chips each time.

Fast forward a couple years... Ohio gambling was voted into the constitution and Argosy knew there reign in south West Indiana would drawing to a close. To compensate they changed a lot of policies, like no flop no drop and raking on the 5s versus 0s. Now the took .50 for every $5 in the pot and they need chips to do that.

Well this pissed everyone ne off. The games slowed down and the staff would get .50 tips all the time. Fortunately for me I was collecting the .50 from everyone. Once word got out I had some pros farming chips and bringing racks at a time. The word is that Argosy had to reorder the chips twice. Eventually the dealers were told to not sell them and to retain as many as they could. The players would still gather the chips and replace them with chips friends m their pocket.

The poker room manager even hit up my main guy and asked him to stop collecting them. He didn't oblige since he knew he was going to Cincy as soon as the casino opened. Eventually the .50s disappeared off the tables, and we celebrated! That was until the increased the rack to 6 bucks instead of 5.

So I guess we had a small victory. My intent was to hold on to them until the last day of their opening and showing up with a wheelbarrow of chips. That changed when Danny called about a big chip score from some Stardust place in Canada.
