Theme Brainstorm Sesh- Need Help (1 Viewer)

Looking for some people to lob some ideas out there to help narrow down a theme for a custom inlay set before I approach any designers. I'm really struggling with any ideas for an inlay or theme that's relevant without stretching to far into the realm of odd themes. Couple small relevant facts to maybe kick it off:

1. Our poker "name" is Cathedral Cardroom, which is only relevant to our neighborhood/street names (nothing to do with religion or anything).
2. 90% of the current games I host are neighborhood games with all the Dads/guys around my age for the 'Guys nights'.
3. My nickname's I was given so lovingly from my degenerate friends are Turtle, and East. Not sure that's relevant much, but could perhaps play a roll, I don't know.

I'm not good at this, it's like writers block, and I need the creative juices flowing...help...

You guys already have a Cathedral of Boston lol.

Turtle's Cathedral ain't bad. Turtle's Cardroom, Turtle's Casino. "Slow is Pro". Can also go something related, Turtleshell.

If you enjoy the Master of Disguise, The Turtle Club.

Turtle evokes goofy, more cartoony, Cathedral more serious. I like the idea of both but different vibes for me. If you like the nickname Turtle, a custom set with your moniker is pretty great!

I guess I should have specified more. I want to keep Cathedral Cardroom as the name even its in minimum print and the rest of the inlay has no relation to that name directly. I just have no idea what route to go with the inlay visuals or theme per say. I don't just want pictures of cathedrals or something ya know lol.

God I wish I was more creative.

Not sure if this will give you a push, but…

If you’re stuck for creative ideas, you might want to abandon these few ideas for the moment, and dig deeper into past. Activities you liked as a kiddo, or what you like now. Hobbies? Favorite vacations, cities…food?!?

Your area might be termed as the Cathedral, but you certainly don’t need to push that direction. If you’re making the chips, they can be more about you…

maybe a few more details? do you listen to music while playing? what music? perhaps a heavy metal text theme? Are y'all friends from childhood -- if so, what fav movies or memories? Is there a common area of work amongst you? You're all engineers or plumbers? Are you all dads or just some? Are there any other collective hobbies or interests amongst the guys, like cars golf or sports betting? If you share more details, that might help thread some things together into a design idea....

Just when I think I've narrowed down my concept, it changes again. I have like 4 that I really want to make, but I have to start with one. ...because if I only ever make one, this has to be good enough to be THEE ONE!

I'm designing my own - but right now, I wouldn't expect anyone to trust me with their chip designs, as I haven't a proven track record here.

Don't worry...it'll change 10 more times. Be patient and keep playing with ideas. Usually it takes me a good 6 months working an inlay idea....minimum.
