So I'm looking to build my first quality tournament set and I fell in love with these chips as soon as I saw them online. As of now they only have 1, 5, 25 and 100 denomination chips, but I contacted them and they said they are adding 500, 1k and 5k chips sometime in October. They are ceramic, weigh 10.5 grams and have a silky satin finish. Hobbyphillic actually did a first impressions video on his you tube channel. My only complaint at the moment is the fact you can only order them in full sets or tubes of 50. In that case I would just build my set as follows... looking for your thoughts as i'm still fairly new to all this.

150 x $25
150 x $100
50 x $500
100 x $1000
50 x 5000

Printing doesn't look so sharp in the zoomed-in first pic. Is it a lower res pic?

I'd advise anybody going for non-casino ceramics to consider a fully custom job. It will be yours and it will be unique. And you can expand on it at any time.

The best way to make a playable set without wastage in multiples of 50 is this:

T25-200
T100-200
T500-100
T1000-200
T5000-100

800 chips total. At 12/12/5/6 you can have up to 16 players, up to 24 players with 8/8/4/7 starting stacks. You could also sell off half the set as a single table tournament although it would be a hard sell here. Or you could always sell to a poker buddy perhaps? Maybe see if someone else you know want to do a mini “group buy” lol

Realistically we're only gonna have 6-8 of us at any given time... what would you recommend in that case?

But I like these ones  lol

You could actually go with this:

100/100/50/100. It’ll work for 8 players, 12/12/5/6 stacks. Plenty of 1000s for color ups. There will be some unused/unneeded chips but it’s not as many as your original breakdown. Add 50 T5000 if wanted so you have even racks at least

Ahhh ok, 400 chips definitely makes more sense. I think thats the breakdown i'll end up going with. I really appreciate your feedback!

This is my taste as well. I am all about the customs. But worth pointing out the downside of customs is they do not have resale value.

Yeah, I agree with this good breakdown for single tables. If you go +50 on each T25,T100,T500, and T1000 you can get 18 stacks of 8/8/4/7 for 200 chips more.

I remember seeing hobbyphilic's vid on these but who sells them?

As of now you can only get them through the companies website.

I’m not a fan. You can do so much with ceramics, why go for something so monotonous?

Oof, at 110/rack you're almost in CPC compression clay territory. The ceramics at @ABC Gifts and Awards are considerably less, even for full customs.

You should at least comparison shop, @Hobbyphilic did a vid on Valentio chips from (BR pro, same owner as ABC), I don't see how these orgins are commanding such a premium tbh.

With some exceptions. Some may be designed so well that others may want their own set based on them.

But of course, the true value of customs is that you now own a legacy set that can be passed on through next generations or to friends.
