So I didn’t think this one was too convoluted or difficult, other than trying to toe the legality line and having to host information elsewhere.
The idea I did have that WAS difficult and would never happen, but was working through logistics with some people offline was this:
- 38 chipping friends go to Vegas.
- Each person “brings” a set to the table.
- We easily decide on values for each set, just normal friend to friend prices.
- Let’s pretend the total value for 38 sets was $114,000. Every chipper pays $3k entry, and each chipper gets their sets cut. So I get 5k for my tigers, you get 3k for this, someone gets 2k for their DJs, someone gets 1800 for CPS, etc.
- We have a host provide a roulette table in a suite (I looked at this, but couldn’t find feasibility), or more likely get a private area on the floor with a table, food, etc.
- We do 38 spins. Every chipper has their own capper they use to pick a number, and we go cheapest to expensive (just so that there’s buildup) sets. Place your capper on a number, and whoever wins that spin wins that set.
So it’s basically just a raffle, but it’s 38 raffles. An afternoon of debauchery. And you just KNOW that some people are going home with nothing for $3k, and some lucky few are likely going home with 2-5 new chip sets.
