Hi everyone,

I recently acquired a set of Paulson chips, and I want to make sure I’m taking the best possible care of them. I know these chips are highly regarded for their quality and feel, so I’m looking for advice on proper maintenance to keep them in great condition for years to come.

Here are a few specific questions I have:
  1. Cleaning: What’s the best method to clean Paulson chips without damaging the colors or texture? I’ve heard about using mild soap and water with a soft brush, but are there any other techniques or products that work well?
  2. Storage: Are there any recommended ways to store them to prevent wear or fading? I’ve seen some people use chip trays or cases with felt linings—are those sufficient?
  3. Oiling: I’ve read mixed opinions on whether to oil chips to restore their sheen. Is this necessary for Paulson chips, or should it be avoided?
  4. Long-Term Care: Are there any preventative measures to keep chips from warping or chipping over time?
I’d love to hear any tips or insights from fellow Paulson chip owners who’ve had success maintaining their sets. Thanks in advance for your help!

Dawn, a toothbrush and warm water.

You can use a Ultrasonic if its mostly hooker juice on the face. But I've reached a point where just some soap, a magic eraser, and gloves is my method. Once cleaned, it's pretty rare for a set to need another cleaning in a lifetime. It takes a lot of play to gum up a set.

Store in a temp controlled area outside of direct sunlight.

Oiling if they get noticably dry or after a cleaning. Generally the oils on people's hands will keep them "oiled" and the colors bright after the first oiling. New CPCs need oiling (IMO) but Paulson's don't always. It depends on the chips in question. Some people are pro oiling and some are anti. It's a personal preference, but I am pro Oil.

Long term care - play em and win money. The more money you win, the more chips you can buy.
