Sent out a communication to my crew this evening with the Happy New Year salutation, a quick update on the preliminary plan for 2025, an invitation to always bring ideas to me, and something I felt was long overdue. Leaving responsible adults to make responsible decisions is a good thing. When I am ultimately responsible or my hosting acumen is possibly called into question I'm more inclined to be out front of certain items.

This week's communication encouraged players to use common sense when taking their seat if they're feeling ill, are actually ill, or are recently getting over an illness. I know, duh... I continued to say that if you're coughing and snorting due to allergies, dry throat, dysphagia, or some other anomaly, they need to consider wearing a mask if they attend to alleviate the perception that they just don't care if others are worried and wondering what strain of whatever they might be dispatching into the poker room, on the cards and chips and all over the James Dean Lounge.

I grew up playing poker pre-NLHE and draw games were the norm. I watched TV as a kid and rarely saw a program that had a poker scene that had more than 6 players. Cut to the chase; The Godfather Club is not afraid of shorter tables. Especially if it's in the interest of people's well-being and peace of mind.

I feel like this is common sense but then again... If I'm out front of something like this then it becomes a shared responsibility. The hours of affirming with one of my more hypochondriacal players that he wasn't dying after the last session is time I could have spent on more important poker game business...
