Thanks in advance for your input. I bought a barrington 10-person table about 6 months ago, but hate the look and layout of the felt. I have seen all the cool things you van do with toppers and get them custom made for a reasonable price.

However, I have also seen people resurface these with SSC. Which is better? I am so torn on what to do...

We currently host a 2-table tournament regularly and play on the barrington and a kitchen table with a topper. If I ordered a custom top, I likely would get 2, so they matched. Price/cost isn't necessarily a factor.

I've done both and regret spending the money on the foam and speed cloth. I put a topper on every time I use the table now, so everything I did underneath was a waste of money. The topper surface exceeds the speed cloth.

Get the topper and redo cup holders. Don't waste the money on anything else.

SSC (especially the cheaper stuff) is very abrasive...

This can not be overemphasised - absolute killer of cards.

I've got a Chanman cloth which is super smooth but if I didn't I would certainly be looking at a topper and avoiding SSC like the plague.
