TR King Suicide King Tournament Set

Accepting offers on my SK tournament set. Post in the thread or PM. No 'dibs', whoever can pay first, wins. I do not need to sell, just looking for cash for another project (not chips).

Most of the pictures I have are 10 years old, though they haven't changed much. Condition is very good. They do not need to be cleaned. Some have fairly sharp edges. My usual game is around 15 players in a T6000 with an optional rebuy. A busy year hosting for me is 4 times. There have been years where I only had one or two games with only one table. If there is a serious offer, I can take more pics.

Breakdown:

$25 X 195 - Dark green with white moon spots (only SK moon spots in existence)
$100 X 255 - Black with red and gray spots
$500 X 195 - Orange with blue and brown spots
$1000 X 95 - Dark Purple and Dark gold quarter pies
$5000 X 50 - Light blue with 5 single dark blue spots

These are rough numbers, I think there are more $5K (see picture). A few may have been lost over the years. Again, I can get you an accurate count if there is a serious offer. These numbers are already rounded down to compensate for a few that might be missing. So original numbers ordered (in order) are 200, 260, 200, 100, 60.

The set comes with 2 dealer buttons. No racks or cases.

Asking price $4500 OBO

Great chips! Love me some TRKs, but I just can't justify spending $8 per chip on these. GLWS :)

Man, I have to work on my bad influence skills.

lol

I also take credit for any custom quarter pie TRK chips you may come across. When I was negotiating this set with Dennis, he originally denied my request for the combo saying it's too much work. I was able to talk him into it offering more money and some shameful begging. :D

This set almost didn't happen. I started out wanting a 'classic' looking king (not a skull), but we had artist problems. I should've gotten J5 on it. At one point Dennis called me with some urgency saying if we didn't get it worked out 'it might not happen'. He wouldn't give details at the time, but TR King closed it's doors shortly after I got these. I believe they are the last inlaid set to be made.

Regarding the moon spots on the $25, the group buy voting was not in favor of them. I also negotiated this with Dennis with more begging. When ordering, another group buy member asked for the the combo I was ordering and was denied. He was told those were only for me (I would've ordered him some, but didn't find out until later).

There were a few sets ordered, though none with the exact same spot combos. I know my $500's were used in another set. There was also a non-denom set that used my $1000 color combo. I don't recall if the $100 was used in another set. The $5000 was ordered by 2-3 people to meet the 200 chip minimum per color iirc.

Wow! This is the first set I was drooling on when I joined CT in 2007. I remember very well the sword picture.

GLWS man, and to all of those who can today afford this set, do not hesitate a second, you are buying a piece of history

Damnnn what a set. You could have gotten TRK customs so recently? I would have never thought. Really feel like I'm stepping into the chip world just a few years past it's prime. So much interesting history.

I remember the sword pic as well.

I was so close, I joined CT a year late. Just missed it, however, warewulf, helped me by selling me some other hot stamped Kings Crowns!

Nice set! If I win my poker league a week from today, I'm in!

I'll wish you luck then lol.

I might need to buy those back if these sell. :)

Pardon the noob question, but what makes this such a grail/valued set?

GLWS

These were a very popular set for TRKing (originally done through a group-buy). A lot of people have them and wish they had bought more. When he closed shop some years ago, he did not sell anything in the way of equipment, molds, copyrights, etc. so they will never be made again. They are simply rare and in demand.

Trail breaks are no fun. What was it axle or steering?

Steering -- Track bar broke. It was on the list for replacement, was just hoping to put it off for a few months.

If the set sells, I will be changing out the suspension sooner than later.

I wish someone would buy these. Preferably someone who will want to sell them in a year or so :)

This thread is torturing me. If the bid to pave my driveway hadn't come back THREE TIMES what I was expecting, this thread torture would have a chance at breaking me.

Call around and try to find a crew with a big commercial paving job nearby. You can often get a great deal that way. I known a few people that did that near you.

Sorry to thread jack --- but just wanted to say that my paving job is at least an hour drive from the nearest town with a population over a couple thousand people. Very remote. No discounts :(

Not a problem, jack away. I figure thread jacks will bump the thread anyway.

Gorgeous chips and would love to own 'em, but can't justify spending $5+/chip for customs, even TRKs. I wish you the best of luck with the sale, assuming you really want to sell them - I don't think I could bear to part with them if they were mine. Mel, please just go ahead and buy these now, so I can stop being tempted every time the thread gets bumped.
