Traveling to Medellin Colombia next week - potential relabel project? (1 Viewer)

Hey all. I'm posting this because I figured this may be a really exciting relabel project I could get started. I am heading to Medellin, Colombia next week for vacation and there is a casino about 5km from my hotel. This casino actually has chips in their currency's denomination, unlike in dollars like many casinos abroad. Here are the 3 lowest denominations:

Now while they may not be the prettiest colors ever made, the interesting part is the cost. That first one is $500 Colombian Pesos, which is the equivalent of 0.16 USD. It's pretty much the best deal ever. I've been wanting to get a high denom mixed game tournament set together, so I'd use them for $1k, $5k and $25k denominations.

So, pending I can get enough of them, what do you think is the best way to get them home? Should I pack them in carry on, my suitcase, or ship them home to myself?

If you have 3 racks, pack them. Any more, I would ship them. Ask Gear how heavy his backpack full of chips was, and you will ship them.

Haha, I would consider that if I didn't dislike the labels so much. Okay, I figured that would be the case. We will see how many I can get out of the casino and go from there.

A few months ago I flew from OH to AZ with six extra racks of chips in my carry-on suitcase. The case was a roller so the weight didn't bother me too much, but what sucked beyond all reason was security opening the case in front of everyone and exposing negotiables for all to see, then opening every rack and swabbing every barrel, exploding a couple in the process. It would have been worth time spent and anxiety saved to ship them - even internationally.

That being said, I'm rolling through security a couple of times over the next couple days with even more chips than last time (had I remembered in time, I'd have shipped them to Denver). I'll have them pulled out of my cases this time, though, and in their own bins.

Also, I'd love a sample set of those three denoms if you don't mind, as well as the one above the 2500 (if one exists).

Alright, that's good to know, I'll just end up shipping them for convenience. If I'm getting a ton of them at 0.16 a chip I don't have room to whine about shipping costs.

I'll be bringing back a bunch of extra for PCFers! They make a 5k as well(that's all I see on chipguide, anyway).
