I got a very unexpected addition to my growing molds collection when I stumbled upon some minty blank Tri Heart molds. I've only seen them in Eisenstadt's guide as MD-31a used by Estoril casino in Portugal. I don't know if I've even seen pictures of the mold other than in his guide.

Treasure hunts being what the are, sometimes you stumble on something so interesting you have to do a double-take.

Does anyone know the history of this mold? The chips were surely made at Burt or ASM given the signature brass flakes visible in the sides and overall feel. I know the mold was donated by Sarles to the Nevada Historic Society shortly after he and Spragg bought CPC, which must have had it on hand. My understanding is they donated any molds that were past their useful manufacturing days, but given there were seemingly so few chips made on the Tri-Heart mold I don't know how it would have worn out through usage, unless there was some accident or other problem with it.

If any of you are interested in obtaining one of these chips please PM me or comment below. I'd prefer to trade them for molds I don't have yet but will probably try to figure out what they're worth for folks without tradeables.

The below thread I started has my growing spreadsheet of mold information, including those I'm on the hunt for in column "U" with "seeking" as the entry (I need to update this with additional chips, including some of the Paulson WSOP molds and a never ending cheap plastic universe).

In the meantime, does anyone know anything about the Tri Heart mold? Who created it, owned the IP, what timeframe is was used, why it didn't last, or never took off?
