Summer Poker in Vegas . . . Does it get any better? Off I go with a scheduled tournament every day. This is delayed but thought I'd try to get the full TR out before DiD. Lots of fun was had o. This trip (like every trip to Vegas)! !

You can check out My previous trip reports posted HERE

Or alternatively, you can check out some updates and SEVERAL previous reports on 2+2 HERE

Regular approximate bankroll of around $3000. As usual, I include: Poker, Pits, Slots, Food & Fun! Let's GO !

1000005595.jpg

Breakfast on the way to the airport before flying out. An earlier flight i barely made.
Construction on the interstate right as I got on and took me over 45 minutes to go 3 miles (next exit). Got off and back on around the delay, whew..

1000005606.jpg

At the airport in plenty of time and taking off!

1000005607.jpg

We've landed and this was the Uber line, seen worse and I've seen better. I have no baggage on the carousel so ordered up my rideshare plenty early.

1000005609.jpg

Staying downtown for the first 1/2. No line to check in and straight to my room in the last tower (quiet side). Great room, even though I'll only be here to sleep, shower and shi . . poo

1000005614.jpg

Got in a short poolside craps session before i headed to the Horseshoe. Lost a small amount bit the scenery was great!

1000005610.jpg

1000005617.jpg

Grabbed a sandwich (which is conveniently located right at my elevator bank).

1000005618.jpg

branding skinned to the Horshoe entrance, sweet!

1000005620.jpg

Playing upstairs in the smaller Horseshoe side.

1000005623.jpg

First tourney is the $250 Deepstack H.O.R.S.E.

1000005625.jpg

Chipping up

1000005627.jpg

still chipping up.

1000005632.jpg

Several hours in and chipping up!

1000005633.jpg

Got to the final 6, 3 BIG stacks 3 short stacks. I'm in the short stack group but a couple blinds ahead of the other 2 shorties, but we're all battling for a pay jump.

It goes on for couple levels until I finally become the shorty and, again, get it in decent with a Razz hand A236 to run out QKK.

Out in 6th / 170 runners. I'll take it!

1000005634.jpg

Another hour to get cashed out and then to bed. Until tomorrow!

Day 2

Starting the day with a pretty decent breakfast burrito, fruit cup and coffee

1000005654.jpg

Just around the corner found a "firecracker" machine and doubled up!

1000005657.jpg

Got in the craps game solo for about 30 minutes than a couple guys joined had 2 great rolls so managed to win a small bit.

1000005660.jpg

Time for som poker. Harvesters must be hitting them hard because they now hand out 3 barrels of $1s and a barrel of $2s (100 bucks). Still about a 65:35 ratio, Paulsons to Icons

1000005661.jpg

Lost some at poker before I headed out to the far end of town for the O8 tourney.

1000005663.jpg

Little lobster mania until go time.

1000005664.jpg

Seat open? Sure, 30 minutes until tournament, win about 30% of my tourney buy in back.

1000005666.jpg

O8 Tournament time.

1000005667.jpg

ugh, grinding . . .

1000005668.jpg

Nowhere even close to top 50% . . .

1000005671.jpg

Time to drown my bustout sorrows with the famous $1.50 hotdog Sandwich.

1000005670.jpg

Let's try our luck @ black jack . . .

An hour later and I am up $5.

1000005672.jpg

moving on to craps. Yuck SP has 2x odds. - $150

1000005673.jpg

Uber'd back to Fremont for dinner. Nacho Daddys for wings and a $20 marKaritta. I've had worse but still not worth $20. Gimme another lol.

1000005677.jpg

1000005678.jpg

Hitting a couple craps tables on Fremont. First up The Fremont.

1000005679.jpg

Palace Station next, pretty chips.

1000005680.jpg

Over to Four Queens to pound Coronas @ 9cents a spin on my favorite machine.
(I actually won a bit lol)

1000005682.jpg

I spent the rest of the "morning" playing poker to beyond daylight. Losing session.

1000005684.jpg

Having a blast! Until tomorrow!

1000005674.jpg

Day 3

I literally drank and gambled until about 10:00 a.m. I was so tired and hammered, it was easy to fall asleep.
Starting the "day" (4:00 p.m.)off with some warm up slots.

This cup runneth over . . it seemed.

1000005686.jpg

Bink a bonus here

1000005688.jpg

"Huge Win" gets me somewhere close to even. I told you it was a low roll . . .

p.s. Spoiler: I lost naturally . . .

1000005689.jpg

So, I base my summer trip around a tourney that now only runs once a year at various venues.
3 game Mix TD Lowball (A-5, 2-7 & Badugi)
After I've reviewed the schedules and structures, GN it is.
Unfortunately, that tourney started at 11:00 a.m.
As I said, the night before I was playing cards and drinking so much (which was a blast btw) that I didn't even make it to bed until about 10:00.
I'm mad at myself and gutted but it is what it is.
Luckily, there is a regular 2-7 TD just about to start.

Let's go !

1000005704.jpg

Amazing early levels puts me somewhere near the top (huge table lead and glancing around probably in the top 3 for the tourney)

1000005705.jpg

Playing well, but my chart levels out and I hold steady for awhile as player dwindle down. I'm having a great time and these players are fun to play with.

1000005706.jpg

Can't catch a break while others are chipping up, I can't make any hands or even pull bluffs.

We're down to the final 3 tables, each 5 handed
2 shorties at my table (myself included) and we get it in against a 3rd.
First draw I make and 8 perfect
pat it with fingers crossed
shorter stack takes 3 draws as does the one covering us.
Showdown comes and the covering stack announces he has the "worst 7", 76542

Sigh, #4 > #5

Out, soft bubbled 14th of 80+, paying 12.

I am sad . .

1000005707.jpg

Walked down the street to the best pizza on "Fremont" (Pizza Rock fans can suck it)

I'm back to happy :)

2 slices and 2 beers, hAzY IPA, and I'm over it

1000005709.jpg

Walk a block south to get some points at El Cortez.
This place always treats us well .
Craps and drinking Modelos & those blue fufu "Adios MF"s.
My favorite waitress is working and she always remembers me. This place is old but friendly.

1000005710.jpg

Back to a few slots, nothing exciting

1000005712.jpg

1000005713.jpg

And with that, I walk back to the room, belly full and a little earlier to "reset" a bit.

Until tomorrow !

1000005702.jpg

A hot stamp 25, a blue 100 and a black 5000…..monsters

Enjoying the trip report. Did you take the trip by yourself?

Yep, solo this summer. Alot of trips are made with the wife, sister & brother in law. Solo works well for me cause I spend so much time pokering.

This tournament looks crazy fun! What are the other casinos that have it?

Day 4

Walk down to The D for breakfast but always have to get some oldschool horse racing in. Cheap entertainment that you always wonder if it will be there next visit.

1000005722.jpg

This place (upstairs @ The D) is great and fairly priced.

1000005721.jpg

Breakfast croissant, loaded with bacon

1000005723.jpg

Back to the room to pack up and hotel change for 2nd 1/2.

1000005730.jpg

First a nice 2 hour nap then a bunch of slot play which never turns out well . . .

1000005737.jpg

I don't have a reservation so I hit the steakhouse early, right after opening. Bone in ribeye with a spring salad. I'm stuffed.

1000005735.jpg

1000005736.jpg

Short craps session until I had for the only NLHE tournament of the trip

1000005751.jpg

And we're off to Resorts World.

1000005738.jpg

Slow play but the chips around me are flying

1000005739.jpg

First break and probably 20% of the field has busted. This is the best structure for a $200 you can get. Now I just need some run good

1000005740.jpg

Well, out about midway. Survived to the end of rebuy period but could never get anything going.

Off to walk around & have some bourbon.

Bubble craps

1000005741.jpg

Slots

1000005742.jpg

Slots & more slots

1000005743.jpg

1000005744.jpg

More slots

1000005746.jpg

Back to the hotel for a decent craps run, another round of slots and bed.

1000005752.jpg

1000005750.jpg

Until tomorrow

Enjoying your recaps. Good humor and good details. : )

It's fun to post and relive some of the memories. I go a few times a year and have been since the 90s. Every trip is different and fun.

exception: that time we stayed 8 nights with our travel partners (sister & brother-in-law) where we got so tired and mad at each other. . . worked out in the end just fine.

The only thing worse than a to short trip is on that's to long, 5-6 nights is the sweet spot for me. Then I want to go back a week after I'm home.

Thanks for reading !

Back from DiD IV and guess I'll button this trip report up.

Warming up with some slots and coffee

1000005784.jpg

Moving over to the craps table. I hedge my don't pass and hope for long rolls.

1000005794.jpg

That went well.

1000005795.jpg

Taking the tram and walking to NYNY for lunch, Pizza. The heat made me delirious so headed over to MGM. Here's the status of the Tropicana demolition. More memories gone . . .

1000005810.jpg

1000005811.jpg

1000005817.jpg

More craps before bed

1000005791.jpg

This is my last night. Back to the room to pack & sleep.

1000005814.jpg

Until tomorrow

Last day, checking out of hotel and one last poker session

Starting off with coffee and slots

1000005819.jpg

Hit a decent buntch of retriggers for a decent win

1000005823.jpg

Mummy time

1000005824.jpg

Monkey time, waste of money, never hit a bonus

1000005826.jpg

Made a little back at Ultimate Fire Link

1000005838.jpg

Off to Resorts World for some lunch before Rauls mix

Buffalo chicken sandwich and some IPA. They were out of the good one since it was Sunday noon

1000005839.jpg

Reserved seat, let's have 4-5 hours of fun! Good group!

1000005840.jpg

This was a nice hand, playing 777 (TD A-7 lowball split with high trip 7s qualifiers). I made the steel wheel on 2nd draw and said out loud "don't know how I could improve" when I catch the 6 on 3rd draw. And they were betting into me!

3/4 with another wheel, ill take it!

1000005841.jpg

Great fun way to end the trip! Time to cash out and head to the airport. 4 1/2 hours and I profitted lol.

1000005843.jpg

One last run of Luck, exit row windows seat. Stretching out is nice!

1000005846.jpg

And the chip haul once home . . . The GNs are getting harder and harder as they are replaced with icons.

1000005849.jpg

That'll do it until November. Was a blast of a fun trip. Lots of poker at several venues, highlighted by a bink on the first day.

Until next time!
