ATLANTIC STAR - TYBEE GA
Rare sample set including the $25 which you never see.
The $100's from this boat have never been found and I have searched for years.
If you collect TRK this is your shot at the most complete set. Good Luck!

Back in 1998, I made the 5 hour (one way) trip from Atlanta to Tybee Island and Brunswick, GA to go on the Atlantic Star and the Emerald Princess. When I arrived at the dock for the Atlantic Star, there were only three of us that wanted to go on the boat. They let us get on the boat but we never left the dock. I had been collecting casino chips for about a year and made the drive to add chips to my collection. The other two people that got on the boat did not want to gamble. I asked the captain (who was the pit boss and the dealer as well) if I could just buy a few chips for my collection. He told me he could not sell me any chips but he would open up the blackjack table (there was only one) and let me buy-in and play a couple of hands in order to get a few chips. I think I ended up with a dozen or so $1 chips, four $2.50 chips, and four $5 chips, and one $25 chip. I do not recall seeing any $100 or $500 chips when I was on the boat. I have been on fishing boats larger than the Atlantic Star casino boat.

The Emerald Princess did leave the port and it took about 1.5 hours of sailing before we reached international waters and we were allowed to gamble. They had several blackjack tables, a couple craps tables, and one roulette table. At the time I went on the Emerald Princess, they were using the HHR chips. The fee to board the boat included a buffet dinner onboard. The buffet was the worst buffet I have ever eaten. This is saying something because the buffet at the Stardust in Las Vegas the last year or so before it closed had Hamburger Helper, Shake-and-bake chicken, and Manwich sloppy joes on their menu and those offerings were 5-star dining compared to what they served on the Emerald Princess. Needles to say, I have never been back on a day cruise casino boat since.
