For starters, they are both Awesome!! Both have their pros and their cons.

ASM pros: same original spots, colours and mold as the prop chips
ASM cons: couldn't get black bear, red denom on the Roman mold

TRK pros: Well...THEY are TRKs(I am a huge fan of TRKs)
:Black bear, red denom.
TRK cons: totally different chip altogether(mold, colours, company)

I personally love both and use both regularly, however, if you are going to go for a commemorative chip, I really don't think you can beat having the same company that did the originals from the movie.

If I were interested in a Rounders ASM/CPC set I would honestly prefer a different mold from roman anyway. The feel of roman mold chips just does not do it for me. I'm sure it would be sacrilegious to some, but I would probably go scroll, CSQ, or MD-50.

I have an original $5 prop chip there in an airtite(I couldn't bring myself to spend the kind of money being asked for a black one)

If I were to go this way I'd probably go for the MD-50. The bonus is that you can get very close to the original black bear, red denom!

A couple more.

If David allowed the original design with just a small black dot next to the leg of the bear to differentiate from the originals, I'd be in on crowdfunding to repair/replace the Roman mold if CPC put up 50%. Maybe offer up to x amount of chips at cost for those who donate x amount or more too.

According to what i learnt from the forum...
The TRKs are something very few people will have... Forever.

I said it on the other forum, but will chime in here too... Nothing beats the original ASM roman mold group buy imo. It would be cooler with a red denomination but the original mold with the original colors is a great and the most accurate tribute to the real thing.

I would like to find one to buy. Any denom. I missed the few that were on eBay recently.

Nevermind. Just got the $5, $25, and $500 off eBay. (y) That's my x-mas gift from the wife. Who has a $100 to sell me? ;)

Wow.... Tommy is way more dedicated to the search of Rounders chips than I am! Congrats, that will be an awesome sample set!

I would go CSQ all day. I have always thought the CSQ was the mold for these chips, I think it even resembles the Roman mold but is different in it's awesome CSQ ways. You think running a Rounders set on a different mold would rile some people??? Try being me and having my opinion of "The CSQ shits over all (most actually, the MD-50 is to damn perfect for retro flavor designs imo) other molds!!" and see what people respond with. ;)

I like the bigger inlay of the small crown chips and like the original design of the bear better.

I'm in love with pretty much all things TRK. I hope to have myself a set of the TRK Rounders one day... But I do think for this set, you gotta go with CPC/ASM. Especially now that we can get the original artwork on CSQ, which is even better than the original IMO. I used to have a set of Roman mold chips from ASM about 15+ years ago. They sucked bigtime. I hated those chips.

But, until that day arrives... I have these to keep me company :D

Awesome! Agreed that the original artwork on the CSQ is next best. What was it about the roman mold you don't like? I have a set of rounders on the roman mold from a group buy years ago, and I love 'em!(only thing was having to change the bear to be brown, unfortunately)
Also agreed, I too am a huge fan of TRK(thanks to a tribute thread years ago)

The set I had was really slippery. If someone bumped the table, you'd better be holing onto your stacks, otherwise they were going down. Spinners galore. Mine were blanks with 312 edge spots though. No inlays. Not sure if that changes anything, but they were just way too slick.
