Anyone have any that they're willing to part with? Yeah, I know, it's a long shot, but I have to ask.

If so, please let me know quantity, condition, and price.

Unfortunate shipping situation has led to desperate times.

 That sucks Mel.. (n)
Did you get any of the $1s or were they all lost?

They were all lost. There are 900 (700 $1s) Tropicana chips out there in the world somewhere, I wonder what has become of them.

Hopefully I'll be able to find some $1s. The set just isn't the same without them.

Wow! I am sorry to hear this as well. I wish I had some to give to you. Is there any hope or done deal...gone?

Yikes.. hopefully the insurance settles out if it hasn't already.
Lost some PNYs that way shipped from France, (but no where near that amount) the package arrived.. just sans chips :(

Well, not much hope at this point. They were last seen on Dec 7th. So that's a long time for them to be in limbo.

Is it wrong to pray for chip related miracles?

No it is not wrong. I did not tell everyone here except for Mel, I actually sent a prayer request to CBN!!!. I started thinking.....Hmmmmm I wonder what these folks are going to say when they see my request.

Dang, that's not much of a christmas present. Just hope they'll show up eventually when USPS clears its annual holiday swamping...
:(

USPS in general leaves my packages in the best shape of all of the carriers, but they scare the hell out of me since things like this happen. I have had a package in limbo for about 2 weeks and still be delivered. I hope that they find this if they still have it. If they dont I hope there is an honest person out there that got the wrong package and sends it to you.

UGH!!!! I have had packages floating in the ether for a month and they finally arrived. With all of the Christmas traffic, it is possible they are stuck somewhere. I am hopeful they will still arrive.

Yes, funny things do happen in the shipping biz. My personal record for a missing priority mail package to suddenly re-appear is about five weeks (just this year, too). In my experience, they never show up until you have finally given up all hope of it ever happening.

Here's my track record, over a ten-year period, and involving more packages than I care to count (hundreds for sure, probably in the thousands):

Priority Mail packages that got lost for more than two weeks: 8
Priority Mail packages that got lost for more than two weeks and eventually found their way: 6
Priority Mail packages that never made it: 2 (both international SFRB, and both to France)

'Tis the season for miracles. :) Here's to hoping you get one, Mel.

These are insured, and I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get paid and reimburse Lift.

I'm hoping things pan out and the chips make it to their new home.

My record (not including packages delayed by customs in Russia and India) is 9 weeks, also around this time of year. It was a shipment from MD to NY, so not exactly a long trip. In that case the package actually made it back to me (the sender) after two months.

Still have my fingers crossed and am holding out hope that they'll show up on your doorstep one day very soon.

Starting to wonder if my RCVLs are going to make this list now :(

Nope, your chips are on the way, Paul!

I do have a current package that is in limbo, however. Shipped from France on 12-Dec, heading to New Jersey. Arrived in New York on 16-Dec, was sent to and departed from NH on 20-Dec, and has currently been bouncing around Washington state (yeah, all the way across the @#%$ country) for the past couple of days (Dec 21-22). Idiots.

You sure the France shipper didn't request the "East Coast Tour" option ;)

No too go too far off topic, but I once sent a package to Austria instead of Australia (by mistake, was too quick making my selection on the drop-down menu on the usps website). Austrian customs obviously took pity on me as they ended up forwarding it on to the right address in Australia instead of sending it back to me (which is what I was initially told would happen). That package ended up getting a nice little European tour before arriving at its final location somewhere in New South Wales (4 weeks late).

Maybe the package (or the driver) has gephyrophobia. Otherwise it's a pretty easy transit from NY to NJ.....
