Seeing mention of Marsha's 12 racks of PCA secondary $1s reminded me of Alpine0000's 1800 ASM Bee Room $1s (oldies, on CT). Then yesterday, I went over 1,000 of a single chip for the first time -- Treasure $1s -- and realized that, while I like them a lot, they're not even my favorite $1s in my collection. Hmmm.

So I thought some more about the single chips I have the most of, and they're:

- 1000 Treasure $1s
- 900 Ace's $3s
- 800 Big Apple $1s
- 600 Chip's Tukwilla $5s
- 600 PCA $5 secondaries
- 600 PNY $25 secondary

Of these, only the Ace's $3s are my favorites of their denomination. The rest were acquired because I guess I thought they'd be needed for limit games with a ton of chips on the table (except the mint PNY $25s, which I simply couldn't resist at $60 per rack).

How about you? What chip or chips do you have the most of, how many, and why? I'm pretty sure I've read of people here with over 3,000 of a single chip. Are the chips you have the most of your very favorites, or were they acquired for some other, perhaps more practical reason?

Tnx -- Larry

The chips I have the most of are all $5 chips, primarily because we almost always played 1/1 or 1/2 at my home games.

Technically one of them is a $100 chip, but it's being relabeled as a $5 ;)

- 800 Highway 9 $5
- 735 Aruba Palm Beach $5
- 700 PCA $5 (secondary)
- 700 Casablanca $100 (to be relabeled as a $5)

I think the chip I have the most of is Emerald Princess $5. I have 600 of them, I think. I have that many because that is how many came with the set that I bought. I LOVE that chip. And it was voted as favorite $5 chips out of all sets I own, by my local home game crew.

I have 2,300+ PJ Pockets $1 ceramics. I didn't plan on that outcome but I bid on all the auctions expecting to win one. (They all ended within 15 seconds of each other.)

I wasn't happy about this for a while. Then I read about someone playing a session using only one chip and decided to try it for $1-$4 spread limit mixed games. That was a huge success. It is super easy to split pots when all the chips are the same, even complicated splits. No one is making change. No one is confused about what chips are worth.

Oh - and it is really nice to have mountains of chips on the table.

Had some Aztar Indiana $500, Empress Joliet $100 (pri and sec), Oak Tree $100, PCA $1 (secondaries), and Speakeasy 25c chips also on that list, but have since been sold.

And I'd have to say that the ~sets~ listed above rank high among my favorites, and in many cases, the individual chips do, too. If I could get more, I probably would.

How big is your GCOP set now Dave?

3225 TFP-mold chips plus 250 T100k/T250k/T500k/bounty/re-buy oversize ceramics. Currently my largest set, but probably gonna thin it back to 2500 soon (mostly T25/T100 extras). Still need a few more T25k, T100k, and T250k TFP-mold chips.

My main chip would be 1,000 Vineyard $1s I had a nice foundation of $1s to start, and bought a couple collectrions that added to the total. Very good idea of DrStrange's to use them for hi/lo chop games. Of course, that also means I need to keep them!

Limit. I have actually never had more than 800 on the table at once but I hope to build two more tables this winter. I have 500 $5s and 600 $25s.

420 GV Primary $5s. Would never have happened without scoring 300 for $40 shipped. Comes in handy for running blackjack and craps casino nights.

1300 Benny's $1. They are my 2nd favorite $1 chip. My favorite is the Hard Rock Biloxi... I have 500 of those. :)

I guess the OP is my competition for Aces $3s....

I'll limit this to the 1000+ denominations off the top of my head:

....
Aces:
$3 x 2800

Not much competition!

When I do have a limit game, it's generally 3/6. I'd like a few more racks so that I have a rack per player and a couple spares, but no more than that.

I'll use 600 as my threshold.

600 x $1 -- Lady Luck Club (BCC)
600 x $5 -- Lady Luck Club (BCC)
1200 x $1 -- Lady Luck Club (ASM)
600 x $5 -- Lady Luck Club (ASM)
1200 x $1 -- PCA secondaries (Paulson)

Do you post blinds at 3/3 or do you also have 1s on the table?
