AUCTION GUIDELINES
    1. The highest bid at the closing time listed above will win. If there is a bid within 5 minutes of the closing time (original or extended closing time), 5 minutes shall be added to the time of the last bid, until there are no bids within the final 5 minutes. Because seconds are not displayed on post timestamps, these examples will be used as a reference.
    2. No Reserve. The Starting Bid of this auction will be treated as the Reserve Price.
    3. Bids must be placed in whole US dollars, following the specified minimum increment amounts. The use of the dollar sign is optional. Bids using images or spelled out numbers are not valid.
    4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via Private Message/Convo. Sellers are not permitted to bid on their own auctions.
    5. The seller reserves the right to edit the listing to clarify statements or correct any errors.
    6. Once a valid bid is made, the auction can not be canceled. Bid edits and/or retractions are not permitted. Violations of this rule will result in discipline at the discretion of PCF Admins and/or Moderators.
    7. PCF (its Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are not responsible for any actions or outcomes that take place in this auction.

It said 2:00 on the dot on my phone but final say is left to judge Danny.

It's honestly why I was confused by the angry face with no follow-up bid until after, but maybe our phones are just showing different times? Wonder how it shows up for others. Weird scenario but we can wait to see what @RivieraDanny says.

No worries either way on my end. Thanks

@Rieguy @1:55 ET

@Stufflymcstuff @2:00 ET Which would extend the auction by 5 minutes to end @ 2:05ET which would have given @Rieguy 5 additional minutes to bid.

I won question was at 2:10 past the deadline.

I was bidding mostly to fill up a box of stuff I have at Danny’s - I’m ok conceding it to you if you want them.

I think it would probably be fair to Danny for it to be at 125 though. If you’re ok with that - they’re yours.

Wouldn't this be Example 2, so the auction is over at 1pm (since 12:55 doesn't extend the clock)?

I'm fine conceding and then having someone just clear that up for future reference.

So not sure about what the consensus is but I think we agreed that the wording suggests that bids on the hour (at 2:00) are not valid, and as rieguy noted, the extension only applies if the bid was at 4 minutes before deadline and not if it was 5 minutes before - because, according to the faq, the time stamp doesn’t count seconds.

The wording seems a bit confusing IMO since if it the 1:55 extension limit rounds down anything up until 1:56 I would think the 2:00 deadline would round down all bids before 2:01 but it is what it is.

Rieguy was generous and let me have it since it wasn’t a high priority but for him but it’s worth noting that proper ruling is that his bid at 1:55 did not extend bidding and my bid at 2:00 was not valid otherwise.

If the auction ends at a precise time (2:00PM EST), isn't it clear who the winner should be?

For the integrity of auctions on this site, shouldn't there be clear enforcement?

I don't know anyone who's involved in this auction (so I have no dog in this fight), but it seems unfair that @Rieguy has had to argue the point of who one multiple times with the other buyer and the seller and then have to concede.

It should be clear cut. Winning bid was $120 by @Rieguy. Buyer is obligated to buy at the winning bid of $120 and the seller is equally obliged to sell at that price. Otherwise, what's the point of having an auction.

There was no “argument” on my end. And not sure any other end. If the guys agree who gets em I’ll sell em at the last valid bid made. $120 is it? No problem.

Or…. To go by the rules let’s say this.

@Rieguy do you want to keep the chips you won? If you don’t be advised @Stufflymcstuff would like to buy them from you. Hahaha. If you’d like to keep them (seriously) shoot a pm with your address and payment and I will ship to you.
