Unboxing chips - including some rare ones (5 Viewers)

I've been a longtime lurker. Well, I've accumulated a ton of sets that have been sitting in moving boxes for way too long. Let's look through a few. I certainly have a "type" - tourney, solids, oversized.

Argosy Tourney.

Palms NCV/promotional. I've infuriatingly bought them on eBay in small quantities, to see the rare score of lots of them for cheap. These are nice and heavy/solid.

Matsui Zens. I saw that these were group bought again. Are the new ones as good as the previous ones? These have long been a favorite of mine to use.

Paulson World TH&C. I used to have a massive set. I think I'm down to these 2 boxes of T1s. We'll see as I open more boxes.

Fracs. I think I have more in boxes. Those 2 motor city quarters go with my Crystal Park set (still in boxes).

Bahamia Cash.

Bahamia Tourney. Love the chips, not the denoms.

Crystal Park / Oversized. Lower denom CPs are in a box still. The blaze orange NCV make good T25s.

Aztar Tourney Solids go well with Reno Hiltons.

And I've had my eyes on the Spotted Aztars since I started :-0

Hard Rock Las Vegas. I'm told most of these were destroyed. Has anyone seen these in larger lots than singles?

Dragonara Malta. Preview. To open and take pictures later.

Binons. Mostly from the rip off guy on eBay.

Random stuff.

Terribles. Minty new, never used.

Mixed Bud Jones set. ~1200 total. I've always liked Maximillians.

Lots of boxes and bins left to open . Some notable ones - oversized ceramic Hard Rock chips, Dragonara chips BG & old clay, Crystal Park, Legends of West, Reno Hilton (mostly cheaper Bud Jones/plastics).

I'm not sure yet on what I'm keeping or selling. Probably a lot of keeping . I recently retired from the military and a lot of these chips were in various long term storage. I don't fully remember all that I've sold (or bought :-0) over the years. I work full time, so this won't be fast. Also, I appreciate all the offers and messages. I'm not all that inclined to take lots of trips to the post office or break apart sets, but I'll keep track and you can do the same. There will be some point, probably when I quit working, when I'll be ready to offload.

Okay - another round with some commentary.

On the Bud Jones question from above. The $1s were abundant and cheap on eBay. I don't remember on the $5s. The Maximillians seemed to be a single owner with many who was selling them for a long time at what seemed like uncompromising high prices at the time. They are really cool chips.

Crystal Park low denoms and tourney solids. I regret not getting more $1s and $5s, which used to be very cheap. The number of boxing coming in was embarrassing with the wife :-0.

BG Dragonara "LM" chips. I think I may like BG plastic chips more than Paulson clays. I haven't followed through with finding good big sets. I was meaning to order some of those old Russian ones back in the day (not so interested anymore).

Paulson Legends of West Home set. These are way better than TH&C World chips. Maybe leaded? They are sharp and heavy, whereas the TH&C ones feel "plasticy" in comparison. This should be about 800x 5s, 300x 25s, 140 x 100s, 200x 500s, 100x 1000s with the dealer buttons and old cards.

Reno Hilton tourney. I bought a bunch on eBay where the seller had mixed lots with the paulsons and bud jones chips.

Silver Dollar WA Chipco ceramics.

Random Paulson Solids and (mostly) Bud Jones blank chips.

New picture of oversized Crystal Park chips. Found another 100x $100s. I think that's all. The middle rack isn't full. Those $500s and $1000s were expensive and hard to find.

Sample Sets. The bottom left has paulson colors, labeled with hotstamps. On the right they have Paulson and BG inlay and spot patterns. The top left is the same with CPC (I never opened it).

Heads up set. I was going to make a cool 1000 chip 10 player "heads up set" with 10 different 40x$25, 40x$100s, 25x$500 racks. Would have been cool. I think this is as far as I got.

Key West (ASM?) were some of the first sets I got. At the time they were nearly the same price as many Paulsons that are very valuable now. There was the appeal in nearly all denominations with availability with what you want. I'm glad that I didn't get into them.

Found that other oversized CP rack. I was going for Reno Hilton Paulson tourneys. Too many were destroyed, too rare now.

BCC? Farmhouse Set. I really like these for an informal single table. This is one of very few sets of my own chips that have seen play by me. I've seen a picture with one more rack. I think these may have been customized for somebody? Not 100% sure? Anyone know?

Random Stuff. Sample sets and things. The bottom right was going to work toward another couple heads up racks.

Found the rest of the Matsui Zens (original order). These seemed to be more popular among my chip illiterate friends. I really enjoy them.

Things I've bought and never opened :-0. I think these are worn/cheaper. As I remember maybe $.05, .25s. Will be interesting to open.

Jeton and Plaque set. Chips in the picture for size reference. Looks like a nice set. I scarcely remember buying it. I was on a jeton/plaque kick for awhile. It seemed like CT/PCF folks weren't all that interested at the time.
