Is that only one chip or all them?

Maybe flattened from being in a rack too long?
 
This chip may have been used to rack check a bunch of racks, creating a flat spot. Thats the only normal casino use that I can attribute this to. Of course someone may have just dragged the edge on something doing the same.

If being-in-a-rack-too-long was a thing then we'd be seeing lots of chips like this, in varying conditions.
 
Could be a cancellation mark (or someone using a type of marker) sinking deep into the chip and someone sanding it until it went away and somehow not realizing they went too far... lol
