If you were downtown I 100% agree with you! Charleston SC is much more beautiful (still has its questionable spots) but no where near as bad.

South Myrtle Beach, Surfside. GARDEN City (a trip back in time... but beautiful!), Murrels Inlet (the old rich farts of Myrtle, but absolutely beautiful!) We go to the beach in North Litchfield, even further south.

But again I have been going since I was like 11 years old, owned a home in Surfside... "special to me" but if drug addicts and blaten robbery and violence aren't your taste... then yeah maybe pick somewhere other than downtown. Remember we are Baltimorons... that's just part for the course within 20 minutes of home. Uggh
I always loved Pawley’s Island but it’s been many years since I was last there. Litchfield and south always were the more nicer spots to be in down there.
Had dinner at “Drunken Jacks” last time I was down with an old grocery manager I knew from my beer selling days that had retired down that way.
Not even sure if that place still exists but it was a great spot to grab a bite in Murrells Inlet.

Fun times in Dewey Beach with the kiddos.

We also had the bittersweet task of spreading the ashes of our beloved chocolate lab Rocco in his favorite place.

Is the “Rusty Rudder” still the spot it once was?
It’s extra Rusty now! There is a big new hotel where the lighthouse used to be. Having young kids I don’t get out to bars like in my younger days but based on the zombies that wander by my house I’d say that the establishments are as popular as ever!

I remember listening to live music there with my parents as a young teenager. It seemed like the place to be YEARS ago.

These are displayed at the home of Georgetown professor Newton Howard.

Also, @Hornet nailed this movie location pretty quickly:

I wasn’t aware of the Transformers. Where are they?

My wife used to work in the car barn adjacent those steps (the red brick building on the right).

If not too late, stay away from Georgetown Cupcake. Even if you don’t mind the line, they had some health issues recently. If you really need a cupcake fix, Baked & Wired is a better option.

If you need a spot for lunch, Bourbon Steak in the Four Seasons used to have a fantastic lunch special at the bar. Might call to see if they still have it.

Went there in the 90s to see Love Seed Mama Jump. That band is still going and was there a couple of years ago when I visited the area.

My wfie's family grew up going to Rehoboth and surrounding area. They love Nicola's Pizza for their Nic-O-bolis. I still have to go up there every couple of years and drop $800 on frozen cases. Had to buy a big freezer just for these.
