I'm curious: at the current bid of $125, what would be the value of each of the four chips?

I can't imagine that's a reasonable price. I could see maybe $10-$12 for each of the $1, $5, and $25, maybe $15-$18 for the $100.... but an average of over $30 each ?? That seems bizarrely high to me.

I suspect part of the price being paid is for the convenience of getting all four chips in one transaction...?

BTW, congrats to the seller!

I'm no expert, but a quick calculation in my head suggests these are currently under-priced by exactly $6. :p

As singles, the 1s and 25s go for around $20, the 5s for around $8, and the 100s for $50-70

I guess you got a steal.

@H|Q @JFCJ -- please correct me if I'm wrong.

I would buy all that I could afford at those prices. The big draw for this auction is it is a complete set... I put a premium on that nugget.

$100s - rarely ever come available, I value them between $60 & $75.

Spinettis, I think, no longer has the $5s or $25s, so they're at a premium now...

The four chips purchased separately, I feel, are valued between $75 & $110, all four together... $100 to $145...

I'm bias, as I have and will overpay for Mapes...

Just my two...

The hundo is the chip dictating the value of the set. They just never come for sale. I did pay 20 for mine when I finally found it, but I consider that a deal.

These are expensive, but the price isn't too far from accurate when you consider these as a sample set.

Probably, but I purchased them separately so shipping costs were higher. I looked up my actual prices: $1 for 7.95, $5 for 4.95, $25 for 8.95, $100 for 23.16 ($45.01 total). I was a bit off, going from memory. The first three were either BIN or auction min-bids, and the hundo was a late-night ending auction without much traffic.

As singles, the 1s and 25s go for around $20, the 5s for around $8, and the 100s for $50-70
Nevermind, I stand corrected.... the (Chip Pricing) Tool has spoken. :sneaky:

Thanks Dave. I always appreciate being called a tool when helping others.

Well, this instance, I think, illustrates why some people opine that your sw tool might be of value to single chip collectors, i.e. 2+2ers, and of little, if any, use to most PCFers.
