I’m bored and I figured it would be fun to figure out a good house mold lineup. I am seriously considering going down this avenue and doing another full inlay replacement set. Yes I’m a lunatic. I’m not satisfied unless I’ve got 1 or 2 custom sets in the works.

Excalibur, mandalay bay, stardust, mirage

I’d be interested to see peoples suggestions for better lineups.

The $2 Caesar will be a lot cheaper than a $20 aria chip lol.

I’m liking the idea of an Olivia’s homage, but with each casino name in place of Olivia’s.

Here’s mine (trop frac, mandalay $1, stardust $5, Caesars $25 and mirage $100; awaiting labels):

Sorry for the pre-ultrasonic shot; looks like I don’t have a post-bath pic on my phone.
Nice set. How difficult were the trops and mandalays to harvest? What kinda condition are those in?

I'd say there are near mint chips at both casinos -- they have been in play but sharp edges and cross hatching still present and they clean up nice.

The trops were a little harder to harvest since there's no poker room. Just had to regularly ask for tip change throughout the weekend and I ended up with 100 that were nice. The only problem with trops is that the color isn't consistent from chip to chip. Many have this yellow residue kinda baked in to the chip. The offwhite mirage $1s have similar issues as well wuth the yellow residue. I decided it didn't bother me, but if you wanted every chip to look identical, probably neither the trop or mirage is for you, or it would take a lot of work to compile a perfect rack.

Mandalay was pretty easy to harvest near mint chips, both from the poker room and from table games. The nice ones are pretty much just small inlay. There are still large inlays out there but they are pretty broken in.

I suppose I should update and consolidate this thread, since I did end up harvesting the luxors and Mandalays and managed to trade some NYNYs for stardust. I do need some extra luxors though.

I've now got 4 racks of the stardust in total, so I plan to use them as the basis of this set, as well as a potential complete stardust set.

I also quite like the idea of mixing other fracs and $1s. The new sahara $1s if they do in fact end up being blue with pink spots so pretty good too.

And the Orleans probably won't be staying since nobody likes them lol so the dunes $25 are the likely replacement.

This thread can be an embarassing journal of the amount of times I change my mind with this set before it is finished.

So I've got another update on the set. Many thanks owed to @CacheCreekCollector for hooking me up with a rack of these for my new $20.

The only problem now is what to do with the new label design. All I've got so far is to keep it almost the same as the original, but on a white background and have cache creek fit on a single line. This would loosely fit in with the rest of the set.

The main problem is that the cache creek logo quite frankly sucks. Unlike the mandalay, it's a pretty uninspired building too, so that's out. Anyone got any bright ideas?

And can anyone think of anything better than the dunes as an option for the hundo? Because so far i cant

I do love that chip, but I think the dunes beats it from a progression perspective. I won't be using the cog on the Mandalay, so its also not repeating inlay shapes.

Also it's a black Denom.

@BonScot are you impressed with my technical inlay wizardry

Difficult to find in quantity but I like the drop chips

The $2 Caesars is also nice

I your going to relabel the hundred like everything else then the inlay shape and font color won't matter, If you want to leave it natural then you'll have to mold the rest of the set around it.

That said if your looking for a relabel candidate then that opens a lot more options

The dunes is the current leader, because It fits the progression and loosely the inlay style of rest. For that reason I won't have to relabel it.

There aren't really too many house mold black chips about.

And you have an oversize Baccarat option too

The only thing I don't like is using Canadian stardust chip, keep it vegas baby

A few nice 100s as options but I think you're right, the Dunes gives you the nicer spot progression if you keep the Cache Creek.

Any thoughts on repeating inlay shapes? Or maybe, close that can of worms I just opened? Lol.

I think going with Dunes $100 & changing the inlay shape of MB is the way to go. Simple, easy & fairly economical.

I don't get the Cache Creek. Chip is great, but its not a Vegas or Nevada casino. I'm with @ovo. Vegas, baby! Vegas!!!

Also for the record, I LOVE what you've done with the Luxor & MB inlays. I hate photo inlays. Your drawing of the MB building is 1000% better than the original.

I won't be repeating inlay shapes don't worry. I'll edit the Mandalay one and come up with something else for the cache creek.

I had this earlier mockup, so I'll probably use this shape

I definitely understand the point, but I've never been one to care where the actual chip comes from. These are a murder set, so once I do up the new labels they will be Vegas chips anyway.

I'd rather the chip colours look and fit right.

Oh right, of course please be careful. However I think you might be able to slide on this one. Cache Creek no longer has a bingo hall, after its re-branding as a full fledged casino resort/spa all chips with the old school logo are no longer live nor redeemable. In addition, to the best of my knowledge, this casino has never issued a twenty dollar chip.

To mimic and try n replicate the current logo would be more riskier in my opinion.
