In the planning stages of my annual summer trip to Vegas. Was intending to play in the Million Maker event at WSOP (begins Friday June 10th / Sat 11th), but will likely need to do something different given family commitments early the following week.

A few different options I am considering include:

  1. Head to Vegas earlier in the week and play 6 Handed NL event - ($1500 buy-in) on Wednesday June 8th
  2. Skip WSOP this year and play in one of the Venetian's Deepstack events - there is a NL $600 buy-in event on Thursday June 9th with a $200k GTD
  3. Enter 1 or more of the daily deepstack tourneys run at WSOP.
Of course there will be cash games to participate in. For anyone who has played in the Deepstack events at the Venetian - what did you think of the event, caliber of players? Same for daily tournaments at WSOP?

Any other tournaments I should consider?

FWIW - staying at Caesars.

Venetian will usually have better players due to a better structure, there are always soft spots early but it does get much tougher towards the end. The Rio daily is softer, but structure wise a bit fast for a 800-1000 man 1 day tourney.

My choice for the last 5 years has been the Wynn series. They have a great structure and in general softer player pool then the V(Nicer chips too). I heard that the series was originally started by a tourney director that was poached from the V, hence the nicer structures.
