These look stunning. I am assuming you added a touch of oil. I especially love the picture with the purple chips stacked on the yellow ones. A1 hotnsexy.

On the purple chips in the picture, they were oiled months ago and still hold the rich look to them. The yellows didn’t need cleaned or oiled.

This actually makes me want to buy a tourney set. I only play 1 or 2 tourney's a year but still...

Nice grab!
Thanks! Very happy I was able to put it together. Hope to add reds in the future but if not it will still play just fine.

I was maybe on this forum a month when you were able to grab your set, I remember thinking that they were the exact type of chips I wanted. Paulson tournament solids from Vegas. Then finding out about the history of the chips and who played with them they became a coveted set. 2.5 years later I was lucky enough to get my hands on a set.

Do you have any idea of how many of these chips are out there? 2,000 - 3,000 of each?

Well, when I bought mine, ledavatar said: "This is the largest set you will ever see for sale. I only know of 2 other sets out there, both much smaller than this one."

From the 2011 thread on CT, Dolomite128 had a set of 200(T25)/200/100/40/20,and Silks said he had a set of 500.

Those are the only sets -- or even racks of single denoms -- I've ever heard of, until now. I have no idea who has them today.

So I would think that your estimate is high by at least 50%...

I'm not a hot stamp guy, and I'm not a solids guy. This set has the right history to it, though, so I can overlook those things and see how awesome it is.

Was silks the guy that used to sell everything on eBay with a bonus Paulson chip.

That name rings a bell.

Doyle, Stu, and probably many others of the late 70s early 80s poker elite used these chips. These have appeal and prestige beyond most sets, although the Horseshoe tournament sets from back then will always carry more weight with being the WSOP and all.
