I started a thread about these Viking-themed ceramics a while ago. They’ only available in the US via eBay. I dig their look, but there’s very little info about them otherwise.

They are sold by a Norwegian (duh!) website, vikingpokerchips.no. I emailed them through their site, and asked about getting samples.

Long story short, Kristian is sending me a complete sample set. Appreciative, I promised to give them some attention on PCF, and pass them along to another PCF’er at some point. Maybe @Hobbyphilic would be willing to do a vid review on them? I’m sure it will be a week or more before I get them, but I’ll be sure to update y’all when the come in.

So far, this is all the pr0n I can give you.

Wow, look interesting. I'll need to contact them. Their site says, "now also shipping from the US!"

Can't wait to see what you think of them. Very clean design.... with no skulls?? This is amazing!

No skulls! Haha! I do like the Nevada Jacks Saloons, however.

This will be my first experience with ceramics, but I’ve been curious. If you can get him to send you a sample set, very cool. If not, I’d be glad to send them your way to get them some attention. Hopefully, they don’t suck. :)

They showed up in the mail today. 2 of each chip, including the newly released 10 and 50 chips. It's really too bad these aren't very useful, because I really dig the colors. They should offer one of those colors in 25¢ for the US market. They also included a deck of cards, which was a nice gesture, but the cards are kind of bad.

This is my first experience with ceramics, so I can't compare them to anything. They have a much softer feel than I anticipated. (All I could think of was ceramic bathroom tile, but I knew they couldn't be like that! :D ) The stack well, shuffle ok. They have a pleasant sound, softer and less "clicky" than my Majestics. One of the blacks, on of the purples, are spinners, and a green one just a bit--not a great sign, I suppose. I really dig the design. Overall, I like them a lot!

I suppose they're what I'd expect for about 50¢/chip.

Very cool, thanks for the tag. The more I learn about ceramics the more I find the blank is the most important. The blank should be very slightly concave so that they wear at the edges and not the middle and no spinners. If you have a micrometer, maybe you can measure the thickness at the middle and edges.

Wow...I’m surprised at how much I’m liking the feel of ceramics! They almost feel rubbery, much softer than I expected. I might have to look into more of these ceramics.

Anyone know a place where I can feed a new poker chip obsession?

Those look great.
We tend to be clay snobs around here, but ceramics are just fine. I play in some smaller card rooms and the ones that use ceramics are very much appreciated, compared to the ones that use plastics.
