What does "filling out" mean to you? You've already got plenty of chips for a ten-seat single-table tourney at 300BB, T15K.

I hate to say this but an offer and an acceptance create a contract and retracting the offer after the acceptance is a breach. Not saying that Rainman should get involved in any legal action, but OP should be very mindful of the legal ramifications of not honoring an accepted offer.

Not sure I agree, I highly doubt there are legal ramifications over a $800 dibs or pm from a poker chip trading site.

Legal ramifications LOL, does it work the same way when someone says dibs on a WTS and backs out as the buyer? If I had to choose which was more asinine between someone finding out their stuff is worth more and not selling it on the cheap and these ridiculous strong arm tactics I would go with the latter :D

I again point to the little old lady who had some butterfly hair clip listed at a BIN of $50 and refused to honor the price when many people messaged her saying it was worth 50 grand. Who is publicly viewed as the jackass? The lady? Or the $50 buyer who tried taking legal action (and failed) to aquire it for the $50 price tag?

Whether you agree with what apparently happened or not, it's pretty easy to understand the sellers point of view. You are the ones turning it in to a "thing".

I'm sure he will update the OP, but I have the breakdown from a PM:

198, $25
218, $100
150, $500
99, $1000

A very good price, and a good breakdown. I would pull the trigger on these immediately if I actually needed more...these should go quickly.

I think the issue is a real world versus legal theory issue. Would anyone really try to enforce an $800 offer/acceptance in court? Of course not because it would cost more to do so than to even pay the additional $300 that is the new offer. But offer and acceptance are the touchstones of contract formation and both occurred here. Hey, I didn't write the law and I certainly understand that the seller discovered (albeit after the acceptance) that the chips were worth more than his original offer. But there has to be some responsibility on the part of a seller to know the value of what he is selling and to properly price the goods before he puts out an offer. Don't you agree? Just because its poker chips being sold on an internet site doesn't change the obligations of both parties. Think of the ramifications in other areas if a seller could retract an accepted offer jsut because he realized that he had mispriced an item.

All this being said, if the seller contacted the buyer and said, "Hey I made a mistake in pricing, can I withdraw my offer to sell at $800?" and the buyer agreed, then the contract is broken without any liability.

And to be clear, as long as botrh buyer and seller are ok with the seller's revocation of the contract, it's fine. All I'm saying is that if this was not the case the buyer has a reasonable gripe. No offense to the OP.

It's really the principle, not these actual facts that are at issue for me. I also think the hair clip situaiton may be different because there it was an obvious error in pricing (1000X) and the seller would likely have that as a defense to breach.

Hey guys, the chips are still available - $1100 for the whole lot. Bluesman is correct, the breakdown is:

198, $25
219, $199
150, $500
99, $1000

Sorry, but I don't trust you. Apparently there is nothing to stop you from accepting my offer of full-price, and then declining to sell because you saw some new listing on eBay that sold for $1500.

I hope you're joking, but it's getting hard too tell.

$1.65 per chip is still a great price, compared to others. I'd have bought them if I didn't already have the Pharaoh's, which have the exact same mold and colors. GLWS
