Hey guys,

Since we're hosting a wedding type event in Vegas, we figured a fun party favor would be some poker chips with our ugly faces on them (probably animated). Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on how to get it designed (we could just use some AI App and do the animation), but would need someone to help put those pictures into a chip style. Then any suggestions on vendors to help make maybe like 500 or so. I do have some time so maybe joining one of the Tina group buys might be an option after having the design? Appreciate any thoughts!

cool idea. That will be a conveniently small souvenir for guests.

For design, I would suggest Fiverr. You can find a designer, send them some images with your request, and they’ll have it done for around $30-$35.

As for chips, you could certainly go with Tina’s for this, but I’m unsure how it will actually turn out. Be cautious would be my advice on that front.

but whatever you do, please don’t go to Etsy for this project idea — it’ll be wildly cheaper to do this through PCF members and vendors.

Also, keep in mind the turnaround for Tina’s — which will be several months.

Hopefully others will have more suggestions as well. Good luck!!

You say "animated", but by that do you mean actually in motion and moving like on a screen?

If that's what you are looking for, that's not doable on a chip. The medium is much too small for that, let alone the power requirements for that.

There have been "hologram" type chips done where it's similar to the old cards and such where when you tip it side to side, the image underneath changes some, but those were done a couple times from Paulson for Vegas casinos (I'm thinking The Spacequest Casino that was at the Las Vegas Hilton many years ago). I don't know of a vendor today that does that, and without knowing your timetable before the wedding, whatever you are looking to get made might take longer than you imagine.

A Tina purchase might get you chips in a few months, even if done outside one of Justin's group buys.

Sorry lemme clarify, it would be a cartoon (like a caricature of me and my bride), so no need to do any kind of electrical work haha. I'm willing to pay a little more to get more fun higher quality chips, so I'm thinking probably not Tina's at least for now. I do have months though, so even if i decide a month from now, I'd still be fine with Tina's.

no etsy for me haha, just looking for vendors here :)

Really big ceramics might be your way. BR Poker is a vendor here, I believe they have 48mm or something like that. Don't know how high resolution they have but it will give you a bigger surface at least.
