What are the best poker chips in your opinion? (5 Viewers)

Nothing beats the feel of compression molded clay chips from Paulson and CPC. Clay chips make up 90% of my collection. However, in CPC's case at least, they are handmade and manufactured one by one and may not be totally uniform. These chips will cost the most between $1 and $10+ per chip in playable quantities. Most CPC chips will settle between $2 and $5/chip and are your best and only option for custom clay chips.

Ceramics and ceramic hybrids, like those made by BRPRO, Sunfly, and more recently the "Tina" and "cards mold" chips made in China are cheaper alternatives for those desiring customs. These can run anywhere from 40 cents to $2 per chip. Ceramics are more durable in terms of maintaining shape but the trade off is that the chip graphics printed onto the ceramic blanks will fade with heavy use. Generally the cheaper the chips are, the quicker they'll fade.

Like anything else in this world, you get what you pay for. Welcome!

In my opinion? These right here, badass custom chips that all but say my name on em. Its been said that these are the greatest chips ever made.

They all work the same

Beyond that it’s up to your tastes and needs as to what “best” means.

90% of mine are compression clay also, but I have a set of ceramics I love that are my first customs and a set of Matsui plastics I’m kinda liking a lot too. Clays have an artisan look with some individual identifying characteristics on each different chip in many cases, like a fingerprint but in a stack they are of the same species if you know what I mean. All zebras don’t look alike but are easily identified as zebras for example.

Ceramics and plastics have more perfect looking spots. Ceramics can be whatever artwork you can imagine too, a strong point for some.

To each their own. Of my 20 players there are four different favorites at my place.

TRK - Old Paulson - BlueChip - New Paulson - Classic/ASM (Not the Red Ott years) China clays and all the plastic shit B&G, BJ, Icon, ect...
