Not Mine What are these Paulson $25's? (1 Viewer)

Right!
Thanks guys.
Dunno if that's a good price.

Dude's been trying to unload those for months and has slowly come down on the price. If you needed them, I'd at least make an offer.

I can't tell the condition fully, but under $2 shipped is decent. OBO is also a plus. The 98's are on the THC mold, which is cool (05 version is on the shittier house mold).

If you are interested, offer $150 and see what happens.

They didn't sell again today. Interested to see what he lists them at when he re lists them. On his seller profile I see he's sold a few Paulsens. I've watched these for a long time.
I'd love a set of Paulsens but I'd hate to have to try to piece a set together.

Seller obviously feels $180 is too high, or he would not have included a 'make offer' option. Personally, I'd agree, but then I think paying $2+ for any home game chip on the PAULSON CHIPS mold is fucking madness.

FYI. This is not the "'Paulson' chip mold", which is I assume you mean the ~2005 version. This posting is the '98 IDC hat & cane version. I have some of these and they are very high quality (e.g. no warpage, which may be seen with the 2005 version or the WTHC I own). I really like my WTHC, however these non-casino chips have more warpage/movement in a stack versus real casino chips (e.g. HS Cleveland).

Thank you, Captain Obvious. I am well-aware of the specific nature of the chips in the OP. Never said they were not THC.

I think he thought you meant the "PAULSON CHIPS" mold, ha. Dave is kind of a bad ass with the chip knowledge. Actually he is a professional Chipologist and holds 3 PhD's in Paulson Chipology with a Masters in customs, ceramics, and china clay. I am often humbled by how much he knows. He is a great resource for all of us!

What does "chips in the OP" mean?
The chips referenced in the Opening Post (or Original Post).

For clarity, my prior post opined that I agree with the seller that his used Casino de Isthmus City $25 chips (commonly referred to as James Bond 1998 or JB98 chips, produced as fantasy chips on the Top Hat & Cane mold prior to the Paulson/Bud Jones/B&G merger that created GPI) are worth less than his $1.80/chip asking price (since he is entertaining offers for less).

In a fit of sarcasm, I also opined that I think it is stupid that home game chips on the butt-ugly PAULSON CHIPS mold routinely sell for in excess of $2/chip (and often much higher). Other than the pricing comparison between what I consider crappy chips and the chips listed on eBay, the two opinions had nothing to do with each other.

I know DaVinci has made a knockoff of this inlay.
Yes, one of the very first china clay chips produced were imported by Da Vinci Imports, featuring Paulson-like 4d14 edge spots and colors and labeled as "Casino da Vinci" - very nearly a direct copy of the Casino de Isthmus City inlay.

+1. I have recently been trying to complete my '05 CDI set and refuse to pay more than $1.50/chip.
