Putting together a tournament set. Right now I have yellow 1000s and orange 5000s just seem close. What do you like

One vote pink:

But Gray is also common.

Nothing is decided but . . .

25 greens
100 black
500 purple
1000 yellow
5000 ?

I would be embarrassed to tell you the cheap chips I am getting but most colors are available.

I may add a 25k chip if anyone want so suggest something there

Orange is fine, but I prefer maroon/burgundy T5000 if you have a light purple T500
Silver or pink T5000 if you have a darker purple T500

Something in green family (forest, teal) or blue should be good for a T25k

Aside from orange I like pink or grey for a 5k after yellow 1k.
25k can be a lot of things, I've seen dark green, tan/brown, dark red, blue, all work well IMO.

You can use whatever colour you like for T5000, as long as it fits with your set.

If you have a yellow T1000, you shouldn't use an orange T5000, and vice versa. Both of these colours are common for $1000 cash chips.

For ex-casino sets we've seen around here, $5000/T5000 are often grey, sometimes blue, brown, gold. White can also work outside of Cali colour sets.

thinking of changing to a baby blue 500 from purple. Keeping the yellow 1000 and going with a pink 5000.

If they need for a 25K chip ever comes up I would probably buy 10 to 20 plaques

I went Orange and it hasn't been an issue with my yellow 1ks. The purple 500 and black 100 would be more concerning. I did purple but made sure to go light to help differentiate.

I have owned several sets with yellow T1000 and orange T5000 chips, and (at least) one with orange T1000 and yellow T5000 chips.

No issues with either combo, although I personally prefer a gray T5000 with either T1000 color choice.

I have one tournament set with red T5000 and another with blue T5000. In the "blue" set, I originally had orange T1000 and pink T5000. I found the orange and pink were hard to distinguish in some lighting conditions. I discarded the pink and went with blue. That set had a red, but I liked the blue better. I like both color combinations. I've had gray and pink as well. Most sets don't come with a gray, but pink is common. If possible, alternate between light and dark chips. Pink, orange, and yellow might not work well next to each other, depending on the set. Obviously BG hasn't had issues with it.

Here's a somewhat novel concept -- get a color YOU like that contrasts with the chips on either side of it.

Seems like there’s a lot more wiggle room in tournament sets

I too prefer Orange and do not see the closeness you speak of, unless color blindness is the issue.
