Some discussion on the Facebook Mixed Vegas Games group about the WSOP 20/40 mixed limit game made me wonder what the masses thought about the perfect mix.

I like to see:

- one scoopable hi/lo stud game (not stud regular where there is no low qualifier)
- a triple draw lowball/badugi game
- the venerable Omaha hi/lo variant
- a couple of Drawmaha variants
- something whimsical
- a 2/7 TD game or variant
- a couple games should feature a dugi element

Here’s an example:

- Super Stud 8/b
- Badacey
- Big O
- Drawmaha 49
- Double Board 5 card Omaha
- SOHE (called Omaha Holdem in casino)
- Drawmadugi
- Scarney (replace with Archie in casino)
- Drawmaha 2-7

I could play that mix all night and all day.

What’s your perfect lineup?

The lineup below is just about perfect.

All split pot games. Includes double board games, draw games, split hand games, and hi/lo games without getting too crazy.

5-Card Double-Board Omaha (God’s Game)
Dra2maha
SOHE
5-Card Derailment
Big O
Dra2maha Low (A-5)

If I were to add a couple more, the following would be included:

Dra2maha 49
5-Card ImPLOcean 8

Do mixed game people think it’s important to have all spilt pot games in a rotation?
The only rotation I’ve played much of is horse, and I’ve always found it interesting that some of the games are split and some aren’t.

i don't think there is a "perfect" mix. Depends on the night for our Dealer's choice game, some games get played more just dependent on the mix of the people and how everyone's feeling. Our "mix" changes weekly.

This is pretty great for big bet. There are a couple more I’d add for fixed limit but they don’t play as well pot limit.

A lot of the casino old timers want scoopable games but then they’ll sit there for 4 hours and play 3 hands. Split pot games are great because they’re more action and you probably have more hands you can open with and play with.

Sadly, no love for limit Scrotum hi/lo anywhere. :(

The few times I get to host mix, my favorite rotation is B-DOTS: Badugi, Drawmaha, O8, Triple Draw 2-7, Stud8

When setting the order, I do like making it such that the initial deal is different between consecutive games, this helps settle confusion before anyone would act on their hand. Players seeing a different number of cards should (although errors do still happen I suppose) prompt players the game has changed.

Badugi - 4 cards down (draw game)
Drawmaha - 5 cards down
Omaha 8 - 4 cards down (board game)
Triple Draw - 5 cards down
Stud 8 - 2 cards down, one up.
