Hello, I have recently ordered ceramic chips from skyline (500 tournament set from POKERSHOP.de ) and I’m now sure if they are good. It looks like they are scratched…. You can see that on the photos. Is it normal for ceramic chips? Should I request a refund or something? I’m new to poker chips thus I don’t know weather this is common or not.
Thx
PS. About 25-30 out of 500 chips look like this

PS2. You can only see this under specific angle of light. So it doesn’t bother anyone and is barely noticeable. Just wanted to add this.

Also few of them look like this…

I honestly cannot see what you are talking about. But if it bothers you that much see if you can get a partial replacement. Good Luck, I see nothing wrong.misaligned edge spots are normal.

Are they concentric arcs? If so they may be a remnant of producing the blank. It looks to me like some ceramics are cut from a rod using a saw while other may be formed in a mold.

It might just be some dust from the production, try giving them a quick wash, might help.

Not sure what the issue is here but thinking the edges are not aligned? Back in the day that would drive me up the wall but honestly now I can say you'll never even notice it during the game, unless it's on the top of a stack.

How should I clean them? With water? Or something else?

I can see what you mean about the imperfection in the face... but is it that bad?? Not really... remeber Man is involved in the process of chip making! Women were made perfect and don't make mistakes... but when man touches something there will often be imperfections. Kind of like split or uneven edge spots on clay chips... those imperfections let you know they were hand made (in this case the printing). Expecting perfection in 60 cent chips? I hate to break it to you but before long many more will have "marks" as well.

Over the years we have seen many forms of imperfections on ceramic chips. Running dye, color smears or light areas, off centered printing and of course edge spot miss alignment.

If you're that much of a perfectionist then complain and maybe the company selling will try and fix it, but that is far from the worst imperfections I have seen.

Love the design and hope you enjoy your new chips!

Dish soap and a rag for cleaning... if it is still there you can try dish soap and a magic eraser cut into 8 squares and rub the surface, just keep In mind a magic eraser has similar qualities to sand paper, it is possible to damage the design.

PS. About 25-30 out of 500 chips look like this

The main things
1. Do they stack evenly?
2. Are they stable in a stack of at least 20?
3. Can the label be read and the colours distinguished from on another?

If you answer yes to the above 3 your set is good to go. All of the imperfections you have shown will be present on any set that has been used a few times. Likely these were the bottom chips stacked upright in rolls sitting on who knows what surface in storage until bought by you.

The dealer could up their game by selling chips with properly aligned edgespots though.
