Worth noting in particular that this chip is a solid-colored plastic chip that's been printed on with silk screening. The chip was fabricated out of a single color of plastic using a one-part mold, as opposed to, for example, dice chips, which use two colors of plastic and a two-part mold (one for the body and one for the stripes). The edge spots and denomination and text on this chip were printed with a single color of ink directly onto the chip, rather than one of the more common (and more expensive) options such as hotstamping with foil or using a full-color printed adhesive sticker.
In other words, this is the absolute cheapest chip that can be made that still has any sort of design or decoration on it.
Also noteworthy: I presume the edge spots are only printed on the face of the chip, with the rolling edge being plain solid black, so that no edge spots are visible when looking at a stack of chips from the side.
I'm somewhat curious how much this weighs and whether it has a metal slug inside or not. The slug would create additional weight, which would make it more attractive to most people, but of course it would also increase the cost.
