I've got a set of Tiber entertainment group chips that I don't know the history behind. They are quite old. A friend gave them to me. Tiber used to run a lot of the cruise ship casinos. Anyone familiar with them? From a blackjack table, so lots of $0.50 and $1. Oddly no $5. Then $25 and $100 chips (which have gorgeous spots).

From chipguide:

Tiber Entertainment Group
1007 North America Way
Miami, Florida 33132

A Swiss-owned concessionaire, Tiber Entertainment Group, operated casinos on cruise ships. They operated twelve cruise ship casino concessions including Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL).

Here's the $5 chip - I have one in my hub-inlay collection:

There were two versions of $1 chips - white (shown in the OP), and blue (below):

Man, even the red looks pretty cool! Low priority, but I need to get better pictures. The spots on these are really nice.

Those are awesome chips. Personally, I'd either spend my life hunting for the $5's or I'd sell them off or break them up.
Just my opinion, I don't mind relabels for fracs that don't exist, but I wouldn't want a workhorse chip to be a relabel.

Those appear to be in excellent condition and look sharp. Instant keeper.

Just pair 'em up with another similar-condition wet $5 chip with shaped inlay. Unlikely you'll find the original $5s, and they probably won't match the condition of the $25 and $100s if you do.

First two that come to mind would be Empress secondaries or Aruba Palm Beach.

Yeah, my friend told me the story behind them. He said that the cruise line was shutting down and sold off sets of UNUSED chips. So according to him, these were bought new, used in his private card game for a few years and now he has no use for them. Knows that I like poker chips so he sold them to me for a great deal. Uncirculated casino chips? Yes please!

They need some cleaning, and then I'll post some better pics. I've got an ultrasonic cleaner at work. I'll probably borrow it next week.

So I don't think I have the patience or funds to hunt down the $5 chips or relabel another $5 for it. Although, the good news is that I looked into the trademark for Tiber Entertainment group and it is non-existent. Therefore, I think someone would be able to use the graphics if they wanted to relabel. When I finally got a chance to dig into the set I discovered that the chips are definitely more used. Summary:
  • (59 count) The $1 are heavily used and will stand on edge but barely. Two have heavily yellowed inlays on one side, and clean inlays on the other side. If someone mounted these into a display case, they would never know that they have discoloration.
  • (120 count) The $0.50 are REALLY nice but have flea bites. The hot-stamp is awesome on these and with some oil, they would make pretty good cash game chips.
  • (43 count) The $25 are in pretty good shape. These are probably pretty rare.
  • (6 count) The $100 are also in pretty good shape. These are also probably pretty rare.
  • All of the chips are pretty old and likely are leaded. Their average weights from 5 chips is ~11.5g
So, this is what I'm thinking. One of the following.
  1. I take 6 of each type and make 6 sample sets for any collectors, sell the 2 yellowed inlay chips to people who want them in the display cases, and sell the rest.
  2. or Just sell all of them as one large set to someone who doesn't mind the relabel project.
  3. or Sell them off in barrels/racks.
Any suggestions on what route is best? Any suggestions on who might be interested in a set like this? Any idea of what they are worth?

Here are some better pictures with the chips and condition.
