I saw this on eBay wlhammer is the guy.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Monte-C...=item3fb3093f9e:g:OIUAAOSwNp1bsaiy:rk:82:pf:0

anyway i asked him about the casino where it came from:

I wrote

I was wondering where in monte carlo is the poker club? did it close down?

wait for it... he actually replied...

check this...

As far as I know the Casino is defunct. I remember seeing the Casino in some old movies, 60's ish, maybe 70's. I am pretty sure the Casino was featured in at least one old James Bond film, or maybe Casion Royale? There were several other knock off films including the Matt Helms series (Dean Martin) and some old Peter Sellers films that featured the Casino. These poker chips are water marked in the center, very light to see, but it's there for security, much like we use holograms in todays world. I am no authority on these, I just recall this famous Casino from old movies. Help that helps. I can also provide all uncirculated
denominations in slabs if you have any interest, will also discount for multiple purchases plus combined shipping. Thank you again for your interest. Bill.

Anyway i sent this back

Weird

he replied with lots of words but not much substance.. what did i expect?

Yes, these are the same. More for collectors displays and gifts. I also have without cases and without having to buy by the hundred of each denomination. I thought I saw they only had 9 denominations? I have 10 packs with one of each denomination as sample packs, or can provide custom order for your needs if using for your poker games. Please view my other listings to view my sample packs. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Thanks again for your interest. Bill.

Basically they know what they're doing and provide vague information in order to let the buyer still believe whatever they want. It's not good but he could also have charged a lot more and those same 3 people would have bought it still.

When you think about it most marketing does something similar albeit not as directly... think about car commercials.. are they selling you a car or the idea that if you buy the car your feel loved/powerful/safe? Most of the time they barely mention anything about the car itself. Or my favorite is when a bottled product like a cleaning product says "NEW LOOK!... 12FL OZ 20% MORE*" ...... *than our 10FL OZ bottle" in tiny print at the bottom but they charge 40% more now.

There is another eBay guy selling a barrel of junkers plus a single Paulson chip. He makes the title and description sound like a bargain and I think right on the edge of being less than honest.

But if you need some 614 spirit molds, he’s the only game in town.

As long as there's fools who'll buy there's sellers who will sell.

Kinda like the guy selling “Paulson” Elite chips for $3 each...‍

Yup, good ol' chipsdealer, buys a few things then triples the listing value on eBay.

Maybe eBay should go back to charging a listing fee of 1% of initial bid value. It'll get rid of most of the crap, or at least most of the crap prices.

I doubt I ever buy chips or anything from anybody who slabs a chip, even if it is a legit chip.

I bought a chip from chipsdealer this year. Of course, he screwed up and sent the wrong chip, but was otherwise legit.

I think he's an old timer and this is his only source of income lol. Sent me the wrong color of a Paulson chip. Then when I emailed him that it was the wrong chip. He sent the correct chip, but wanted me to send the other one back and didn't want to pay me for shipping or packing materials. He was getting pretty annoying, didn't understand that I wasn't paying for packing materials and shipping when he clearly screwed up. I eventually ignored his emails and he moved on.

I'm not saying he's not legit (which really just means not illegal), I'm saying that his listings are unreasonable. Buying from the same platform, inflating the prices, and listing them on the *same platform* is insane. That's like buying a rack of used HC Cincy $1 from TCE and then listing them in the Classifieds for $400.

As @allforcharity says, he's still buying chips and up-charging them right after. What's worse is he's buying and selling the Paulson Elites for more than 3x the cost that people can still order them at. Just taking advantage of people in my mind but it's America so swindlers gunna swindle.

Just looked at his listing and its 5, 5 pages worth of poker chips over priced by 20-300 percent. Now that's the worst.
